Okay, so was under the house and happened to find a 2nd snorkel that was from my old tn efi.
after thought and looking at my engine bay in the sedan, I thought why not try this.

pic of snorkel and plastic flooring type cap...

pic of snorkel section that connects to the filter intake housing

Notice the 2 split it has, so yes that large bulb at the bottom.... kinda does something.... what I still don't know, and as constrictive as this intake is, I doubt I've made a change except perhaps lighten the cars load by maybe 50g

Anyway, pic of the now snorkel and missing floor cap....

and another angle pic

Plan to perhaps get some of that large flexible hose plastic and hide it down the inside leading into the snorkel so it might suck in abit more free flowing air instead of mostly engine bay heat and abit of air that made it past the headlight.

Try and run a pipe man, set you back $30 odd and makes a world of difference:)

yeah, gonna run a pipe as i mentioned at the bottom.

the hole is actually a replicant of the right hand side.
where the AC canister is, there switched around on the lhd models.

hey, i just had an idea, i'll post a pic up, magna buff just gave me a thought.

ok, part 2, the lead pipe.

take 1 slightly modified carby intake snorkel and a zip tie

snorkel fits abit loose in the hole, but isn't to bad considering. just for now zip tied it to the battery hold arm.

and where it feeds from, made it so it wasn't low enough to suck up dirt, but will catch the air travelling under body

Note: when I get some free time next weekend, I will modify the floor plug so its a nice tight fit for the snorkel and just plugs in. also removes ugly zip ties, though I may add one inbetween the bumper to stop it from flapping around in the wind.

really? weird, both my cars have em.

well despite the lack of hole to open up the breating area, it's still a good mod to cut open the box at the bottom, dunno why it's designed that way, imo would create a vacuumed force...

that hole matches the one on the other side for the air conditioning dryer

you can always cover the hole with door fly wire or shape a scoop

good for a cold air intake well done

Those holes are good for running IC piping ;)
