Hi everyone
I'm thinking of doing some exhaust work on the KR verada, it definetly needs a new rear mufler other than that I can only see a couple of resonators in the system. Has anyone had them fail + is it an easy exhaust to work on?
Mitsi_Boy chopped the resonators out of the exhaust and added a cannon on my car before i got it. I think Deanimus might still have it somewhere. but he reckoned that it was easy as long as you dont go messing around up the front end, tends to get a bit tight up there.

Not many shots for the rear section but good ones on the front..

Hi, if you have a standard exhaust, it is easy. two bolts on the cat and two bolts in front of the rear axle then the rubber hangers. no hard bits and I have a kr v6 exhaust on my tr 2.6 4cyl. took about 20 minutes to remove and instal and as far as I can see they are the same exhaust. big muffler at the rear and two small ones in front of the axle. jacking the car up and putting it on stands was the hardest part.

Just got a Lukey Ultraflow put onto mine.
Great note. Nice and burbly, above 3500rpm sounds real nice indeed.
I was going to get the LR2779 but when they went to put it on it wouldn't fit cos the car has a towbar, and the mounting means theres not quite enough space to fit the LR (its a little longer than the Ultraflows). Still, not complaining one bit about the ultraflow, its great.
Cannons sound **** most of the time to me.

Hmm Ive got a towbar too although its a wagon. Whats the difference between the ultraflow and the LR ???
Also did you change anything else, like the pipes or the centre muffler/hotdog?

mines a wagon too.
I'm not too sure what the difference is between an Ultraflow and Race (LR 2779) muffler, they're both straight-through and packed with glass fibre.
Physically the LR (race) is longer than the other mufflers (by about 50 mil or so I think the guy said), its the extra length which made it not fit.
It was just a muffler swap job for me.

i believe the LR 2779 is the original weld on version, mine is the Lukey bolt -on version AL-5711 i think. its gotta slightly different offset and smaller than the LR2779.

I ended up changing it, was pretty easy, the one I got was a walker exhaust, fairly quiet I wanted it quiter but still it's roadworthy at least.

sorry to jack the thread but seeing that we're on the same topic i just purchased a LR2779 muffler ( weld on style ) and was wondering will i have to change the original piping from my stock muffler, it will be installed on a TR 4cyl, also how much am i looking at if i do need new piping/flange?
