I have installed an RPW plenum a week ago and had the emanage retuned on Saturday. Unfortunately for me I had to pick the hottest day in Brisbane of this summer:rant: Not only was it stinkin' hot, i also found out my Cat converter is stuffed by way of it blowing it self out with each power run and settling the dust on my car. I will get around to another tune after i replace it, however this is the result for now. Not bad for an auto. 183.4hp or 136.76kw at the wheels.
I am sure i could managed a bit higher figure had the temperature been more reasonable. The intake temp was 72 degrees:shock: while ambient was at 35 degrees. As a comparison I had 175hpatw when the cams were put in and the intake temp was 39 degrees. Noticable differance in driving power and torque. BTW it was in fourth not top gear as indicated.

nice improvement. is sure worth the money then? wonder what figures one would get if you put the ez boy plenum in.

As i was able to pick the plenum up 2nd hand it was def worth the money. So far as $/kw goes it would compare to the EZY one i am assuming. having said that, it seems as tho it is being built for more mid to high rpm, where having and keeping the auto this one seemed the right option.

That's a really good result considering you got a colapsed cat converter, get a new one in, you'll get another gain mostlikely. Get a metal cat converter, they cost about $40 from memory more than a ceramic one

may i ask how much ya paid?
also how does this plenum differ from EZ boys?

i think your next mod should be 10:1 compression pistons!
I think you have the most powerful N/A auot on the forum, behind Foozrcool who has a 380

I will get a little close after a fix things..maybe highest na auto magna title....

He is more of an expert than me, but his holds a lot more air, and with a piggyback can be tuned for better gains and also has different runners. Check the rpw website for more pics.
wheres a good place to get one of those metal cats?(south/westside)

The RPW plenum's are modified stock units. They have increased plenum volume and longer intake runner lengths, with also have internal ram tubes welded to each runner.
The EZ boy unit is completely new casting. It too has greater internal volume, but the main area it differs it that is has a dual intake runner per cylinder design. This along with the cast in bell mouth is designed to increase lower rpm flow velocity while keeping enough flow for high rpm.

I'm just waiting for one of these RPW manifolds right now (polished finish  ). Which cams did you use - RPW, Tighe, something else???

Dyno chart says it was done in shootout mode which means the final numbers should already have temperature compensation dialed in. But, you're probably right  Nice one.

My dyno;

And the typical output from the 380 owners with exhaust and intake mod would be around 6KW less than mine.
Not disparaging Magtone,; great effort, but the 380 has much more potential for NA and Foozrcool doesn't have cams or plenum mods for 163KW ATW.

Yeh, it already has 12kw from factory. Just gaining a few kwatw cost $$$$$$ I saw yours pulled the same as mine with just the full exhaust sytem after headers. I did correct in an earlier post that it might be highest hp magna auto;)

The best thing for you is the weight; around 200kg less than a 380 so on the 1/4 you might be still ahead ;)
Foozrcool and I are keen to test our gains on the 1/4 soon.
But enuff of 380s - back to your car, bud.

And who said I care if RPW made a bit of money outa me? My object was to buy one as a stop gap until the EZ manifold came, and then to act as a benchmark comparison so people know what the diffs between the two manifolds are.

I bet the people that make brake pads and tyre's are making a killing off us as well, so why are you not complaining about them?
RPW is a business that actually makes parts for a magna. And last time i checked, most businesses are out to make money.
