Hey guys,

i need a bit of help. I got my springs yesterday, freebies  (thanks Luke) and today i wanna have a crack it my self. I lowered my last car my self (2nd gen magna). I've got the necessary tools (spring compresses, sockets, etc...).

i've been looking in the workshop manual, but still a bit confused about the front suspension. When a mate of mine was doing his 3rd gen the drive shafts came out (auto TJ), i don't want this to happen when doing mine. any hints and tips.

thanks

EDIT: + where are the jacking points for the rear of the car

No need to remove the drive shafts.

Just remove the 2 bolts between the bottom of the shock absorber and the steering knuckle.
Remove all but 1 of the top mount bolts then wiggle the shock absorber off the knuckle.
It is a good idea to use a bent coathanger or some strong string to support the knuckle when the shock absorber has been removed..

Gerry.

thanks anyway, i ended up taking my time and doing the front one after noon and the back the next. it sits quite nicely now. The front could be lower but when my JVM front comes i think it will be low enough.
