How much would a 1996 TE Altera V6 sell for? It's done 150, 000 Km's, dual airbags, abs, tinted windows. I'm hoping for about 5-6k (optimistic!).
I want to upgrade to a newer Magna, probably a TJ. Anyone know what a good deal is on one of them (must have airbags/abs)?

thats sounds about right, there is a few TF execs around here and they want $9990 for them. jump on car sales and have a look so see what the others are going for

you should be able to pull around $5000, plus or minus a few hundred depending on condition, rego etc
a tj you can pick up for 6-7g

Thanks for the replies. My budget is about 8k if I sold the car for 5k, so basically 3k on top of the what the car goes for. I was looking at carsales and there are two vrx's that are for 9k that look very enticing, albeit outside my price range.

List it for $6200 say and go from there, I paid $6300 for my KE Verada, so don't expect anymore than $6k unless you get lucky. I was considering a TE Altera w/Sunroof before I bought the verada for $5k, this was around a month ago, if that gives you accurates on what a good price is.

One thing to ask yourself is, if someone can pay $9k for a vr-x, why would they pay 6k for a TE?
$5k tops, if your car is immaculate inside and out. Otherwise 3-4k is more realistic.

not a lot at all around here. seen a te altera for $2990 at sandgate today and on another note, my mother got $1k for her 97 TF executive. but yeh, here theyre a dime a dozen...where u r, maybe more...pretty sure gas_hed sold his slightly worked 96 rada for around $3500-$4000 IIRC

It is now a 12 year old car, from $3000 - $5000 anything over you would be very lucky. The only way that would happen is if its in very good running order and its a p-plater who dosent care just wants to drive
Better off private sale as dealer will offer $1000 - $ 2000 trade-in and sell it for $6000*

I've got a 1996 TE advance and my insurance values it at $6K (the "agreed' value). mind you it's only done 75,000km and everything is in top notch.

agree not a lot(however depends on where u r) if youre in nsw u look at 3k.
and yeh..if someone is asking 9k for vrx..4 yrs newer = abt 4k, top model +2-3k again so work that out
