I was sitting at a set of lights corner Station St and Darebin Rd in Fairfield when bang he hit, didn't even slowdown. The bang was so loud the guy in front of me got out and checked his car cause he thought I must have gone into him. We pulled into the servo and had a look at the damage, the front of his car is a bit of a mess thanks to my tow bar and my car looks OK. The rear bumper will need repainting or replacing as the paint has cracked, actually there was dent in the bumper that "fixed" itself as we looked around my wagon. We heard something go ....PoP and the dent was gone.

Anyway the tailgate looks a little wrong but it has no actual damage, I'm worried the chassis may have been bent. I'm a little sore and the back of the drivers seat was making funny noises, like the springs are flat or something.

I did get a quote for both front and rear bumpers in January cause they both need touching up. Last week when the BCM unit gave up I had some stupid woman in a SAAB back into the front and leave a small dent as I sat in the car. :bowrofl: Hopefully this not one of those things that come in threes.

Make sure that the tailgate hasn't caused the roof to deform if it's been pushed upwards at all. When I got ****-ended the left side of my KR's roof (just above the hinge) ended up nearly 10mm higher than the right.

Go see a doctor too, just in case the pain doesn't go away. Better to do it now whilst the insurance claim is still in it's infancy.

Hope all is ok with you. That is good advice about the doc. I got rear ended about 4 years ago with the missus in the car. We were a bit sore for a few days but didnt do anything else about it. 6 months later the missus had to have back surgery due to a herniated disc. Now the bloody thing went again on Xmas eve. So is better to be safe than sorry. My car looked like it had very little damage until i crawled underneath and had a look. Rear chassis rails wer sitting about 40mm uowards. Yep written off. And the towbar took most of the impact. Good luck with it all.

Good luck with the wagon, and glad you're not badly hurt.

Thanks everyone, I layed down for a little while after dinner and feel a bit better, if I'm still sore I go see a doctor tomorrow. I feel like a sook.

I'm taking the car to the same Panel Shop we got my mums Getz fixed at tomorrow.

Hope you feel better soon!

For a quick check to see structural damage, open bootlid and lift up the carpet. Any sort of buckling of the boot floor will mean the car will need to go straight onto a jig to see if its still straight.

I had a good look at the roof line and the rear wheel arches and couldn't see or feel any ripples, I'll find out tomorrow.

Got a quote today for $1240 although he didn't have a real good look underneath.

A friend had a look and he thinks the side panel is out of shape, but I'm not 100% sure. I'll get another panel shop to check it out on Saturday. BTW the guy has decided to go through his insurance AAMI.
