Right stud pattern, you will have to check offset.
Not a fan off those rims thou.
There is a set of 16s in the forsale section that are nicer.

offset is where the holes sit on the rim.
ie, left middle right i think magnas are about +36.
As to clearing brakes etc.
Maybe a trial fit would be the best bet.
But then it also goes on the size of the hub has to be a tight fit as that is where the weight of te car sits if it is too loose it will be sittin on the bolts and thats not good.
If i have made no sense someone on here with have more clearer advice i am sure.

no, i dont think so, i really hate massive rims. i think the largest id ever go given a choice is maybe some 17s but in my cars case it doesnt deserve any better than the 16s... lol. i only intend to have the magna till i can afford a 380 anyway...

Nobody hates massive rims dude... Just like TUFFTR loves guys... he just can't bear to come out and say that he does, your relationship with large rims is the same, you just gotta accept it, people won't hate you for having big rims :)

if you say so :S, still you will NEVER see anything bigger than 17s on anything i own, i beleive 17s are perfect and it just goes downhill from there. (this assuming i never buy a tractor or anything else that REQUIRES bigger rims lol)

The offset of a wheel is the distance from its hub mounting surface to the centreline of the wheel.

I see where you're coming from but for some people there's big and too big. personally I wouldn't put anything bigger than 17's on a 2nd gen, but of course that would change if it was a 3rd gen. Sayong that there are a lot of cars around that I think don't look very nice with massive rims.
Personal preference in the end, I 'spose.

Nothing wrong with having a bit of tyre there as well, I suppose in the end it comes down to personal preference. Personally i'd have 15's or 16's but no more than 17's.

nice to know im not alone in not conforming with the "bigger is better" attitude.
though on a more serious note, thanks i286, that will be my one thing learnt for the day...

Find out what model of Falcon the seller had these rims on.
If its a BA series then they will fit as the rims on my magna came from a BA Ute. They arn't the optimal offset (they stick out abit compared to rims specific for magnas) but they do fit.

Just on a related note, can anyone confirm if the rims from an AU Falcon will fit on to a Second Gen? Only info I can give is "5 X 114.3pcd" and "15x6.5".
Guy selling them says they will fit a Magna, I think he may be referring to third gens but i'm not sure if third gen rims are interchangeable with seconds so I can't tell my comparison.
Searched for "offset" but it still didn't quite give me a definite "Yes" or "No".

why does everyone not want to get bigger then 17"s Its not 1980 here.
17"s look so tiny on 2nd gens its not funny....18"s minimum to actually have some attitude with the car....19"s and 20"s (havent seen 20"s yet though:O) look pimp

Really depends on the look you're after. If you want something that looks a little classic, then by all means let it be 1980 and go for the 17's. If you're after the new style performance or "pimped ride" sort of car, then go for as big as you can and fill those guards.
Then there's the Midwest look.

lol
But seriously, it all comes down to personal preference. I'd go for whatever looks good on the car, there's no way I can afford bigger rims and I don't mind a bit of tyre, so I go the 16's or 17's.

Personally I find it ridonkulous to spend more on rims than the car is worth! Not to mention the cost of tyres for the ****ing things! After 17", it seems that the cost of tyres doubles for each added inch!
I'm quite happy with my 16's, 17" max unless you somehow manage to find 18's with good tyres for like $500.
(and of course, some of us drive on roads... you know, those things in that big unexplored area outside of the suburbs?)

personally,i wouldnt put any bigger than 18s on my car.19s and 20s are too big imo and kinda look silly with those ridiculously tiny brakes. I like the look of 17s on a 2nd gens, its got the right mix of pimpd and classic.

Yeah see the whole More money per tyre thing doesn't concern me. because if your staying with the same sort of level grip tyre, upgrading from 17" tyres to 18" tyres is approx $40-$50 a tyre more  Hardly going to break the bank...Approx the same with 19"s again. So 18" tyres and rims are a very good value for money deal, especially 2nd hand! (i would never buy brand new rims and tyres when a 2nd hand set of 18"s can be had for $600-$900)
Only reason i have 19"s is because they set me back as much as a set of 18"s at the time (under 4 figures :D) so why not if the price is right

on looks, yeah
but bigger rims = worse ride.
For looks 18+ might be nice, but I have no doubts whatsoever that the ride will suffer too much. The way mine is its firm on 15's, more than 1 or 2 inch increase in rims will make it too harsh. Of that I have no doubts.
