I've done a search and found plenty of info on cleaning Throttle bodies which is pretty straight forward if done without removing the TB from the car, but could not find anything on cleaning throttle bodies on a dual fuel car.

Has anyone else here with Dual fuel cleaned the throttle body? If so are there any additional precautions? I would assume it would be the same as on a petrol only model provided you didn't
disrupt the LPG mixer which attaches to the throttle body.

I have also read that you need to plug a hole in the TB just before the butterfly to prevent TB cleaner going in there, but I've also read other posts which don't mention this and just say to spray the throttle body cleaner in around the butterfly and let sit, clean with a rag, spray some more TB cleaner in then put back together and run car.

What are the consequences of getting TB/Carb cleaner into this hole in the throttle body if it isn't plugged up?

For the extra couple of minutes work just remove it from the car. The plastics inside the idle motor housing don't like solvents. Best to use kero on a lint-free rag and wipe it down a few times. Clean up the edges of the butterfly. The rest of the TB is a waste of time to clean - no advantages unless there is serious gumk in the idle control passages. The idle control screw should be down all the way so no point cleaning that passage unless it's been opened for the dual fuel tuning/running.

Agree with above however I ALWAYS clean the lot.

I ahve seen a quick clean and then the muck seeps back to where you cleaned. If you are going to do it, no harm in doing it properly.

The last LPG car I did was Choonga's from memory, I simply removed the TB and did what I normally do.

Thanks guys, I'll remove the throttle body to clean it making sure that the butterfly gets a good clean. With the LPG Mixer in there and a much shorter rubber intake tube between mixer and throttle body it is too hard to access it whilst on the car.
Last night (before posting this thread) I was impatient and could not completely remove the short rubber intake tube so I just sprayed some carby TB cleaner into the throttle body and screwed it all back together and ran the engine but I was concerned about having not plugged up the big hole before the butterfly when spraying carb cleaner into it. (Read that you should plug this hole after I'd already done it)

One thing I found was a loose 100mm hose clamp between the air cleaner air flow sensor and the LPG mixer, I tightened it and the car did not pull nearly as hard when accelerating on either LPG or petrol it just seemed to rev out but go nowhere, so I loosened it again and the car pulls like a train at mid range revs again, throws you back into the seat in 1st gear on either fuel ???? WTF
I hope I'm not pulling unfiltered air into my mixer and throttle body, I think I'll tighten it up again and get an LPG tune up, possibly it's introducing more air but on the wrong side of the filter

Tighten it up and re tune it. Last thing you want is a backfire not good.

Yes backfire = very bad, even more so with LPG, I have tightened it up and will organize a tune, cheers wrexed03 :)

Hi, pardon my ignorance but i got after market LPG setup & my mixer attachement is the air intake BEFORE the filter or is there something else attached next to the TB i dont know about (to do with LPG)? Cause i was thinking of cleaning my TB aswell.....

Something doesnt sound right.
You will have a mixer generally between the maf and the Air flow meter.
Or it could be one of those ring mixers thats sitting in the same area as mentioned above. If you could take a pick we may be able to lead you in the right direction.
Either way throttle body is a seperate component to the lpg system focus on this only if you can.
