i also removed the stock thermo fans and now have a 14inch thermo fan there sucking the air thro hehehehe ....... made a little difference in temp ..... i am also in the mist's of designing a new air box that will still use the stock afm i don't know if it will play up suppose it's trial and error

you going to paint them or leave em black?

Please paint them...

You've put the vents where not much heat really stays... You'd get a better result over the engine itself or nearabouts.

Umm.. You do realise that where they are currently located will be of no use to your engine bay (except at idle)

If anything you will probably increase the heat within your engine bay while moving because you have created positive pressure at the front of the bay which is where all your cold air comes in.

So in esssence, cold air comes in and is then pushed out through those vents because of the pressure change under the hood.

Your idea was good, just not executed with alot of thought to heat disapation..

Ill have to link the doco on under bonnet temps and the effects of improper vent use..

well okay i do hear what you guys are all saying and yes i will be painting them and as for cold air flow et'c

this is my thinking bare with me

the air box i have modifield by opening the end right up when i have the heat shield in place near the battery as seen in other pic's the air from the radiator dosn't get near it hence i put a vent there the battery won't get hot and the air escpaes so i thought ahhhh y not put 1 on the other side to match so it dosn't look outa place ..... so the air is removed quickly from around battery so it won't get hot and the flow of cold air around battery will be cooler ..........

i am going to do another vent on the bonnet a bigger 1 so the air over the engine is removed super quick .......

i know some of you guys and gals are ganna say it's not worth it and maybe it might not be but i do think even still once there painted it will look good .......

so its a work in progress..not fully finished

will take the heat out of the engine bay away from the extractors

does the rain get in the events ?

Shoulda copied me if anything, they don't look to bad, but water running into the engine bay will splash on your battery, and A/C componentry.

yeah i don't really have a water issue on the electric's okay i am ganna get some water on battery but hey can't have the best of both world's hehehehehe

i am trying to figure out what kind i want in the middle as for more air to escape above the engine ..........

I think what people are thinking is, air moving across the top of those vents when you're moving along, sucks the air out of the engine bay. So cold air coming in at the front, might be sucked out your vents. Hot air from the back of the engine bay, will need to be sucked forward then out your vents, which might not work very well.

Why not put two like the one's on now also at the top of bonnet? At long as no water get in?
