Well, today I decided to head on down, and see what my car could pull.

First time out, wasnt sure what to expect. Took it nice off the line, powered through, but somehow, jumped off the clutch to early when shifting into forth. First time happened to be my quickest of the night however.

The second run out I pretty much cooked the clutch on the burnout. Seems that stock clutches dont like doing more than one race start. Ended up running a 16something, but with an impressive 93.82mph at the end.

Third and Forth time out, I could tell me clutch was letting me down. Took it easy off the line as shown by the 60' times of 2.9 and 2.7. ETs were, as you could expect quite low, however trap speed was good, 92.49, and 90.50.

So, looks like I might need a better clutch to handle the tracks a bit better.

As I said above, best time of the night was a 15.272. 60' time was 2.382, and mph only 81.18.

I can see potential.

Has the car got any engine mods (besides the pacemakers/exhaust) or weight reduction or is it just stock?

15.27 sounds a bit high, i thought 3.5's ran high 14s, especially in manual?
*correct me if im wrong*

It is high, it is way to high. Should of run a 14.9 min. Infact I was looking more towards to 14.8, or 14.7

First run was a nice, easy run. As you can see, the MPH was only 81 on a 15.2 pass. For the rest of the night I was averaging 90+MPH. If I was able to string a 2.4 60'time, with a 90mph trap speed, im sure I would of been in the 14 bracket.

My clutch only really let me have one good, hard launch. All the rest were crap

Maybe consider a tranny cooler to help cool down the transmission quicker, it'll not only give it a longer life (especially if you're considering running more often) but it might help keep the tranny cool enough to run a few passes.

Supercheap sells them, get your local tranny mechanic to install it, i think all up it should cost around $300 installed.

No such thing as a tranny cooler for a manual car.

Ye. Tranny coolers are only for autos. Manual gearboxes tend not to get that hot.

Clutches on the other hand, lol

maybe a HD racing clutch could help you out :)

Problem is theres not many very heavy duty clutches for a Magna. Shame that

you could always get you local clutch shop to put heavier springs in the pressure plate. Also, if your clutch was slipping, check the pedal free travel. There is a bolt at the top of the pedal you can wind in and out. If you dont have much free travel, wind it out a bit.
