ok now im in need of parts im after a set of lower control arm's for my tp and some rear brake calipars. they don't stock the tp parts at my local wrecker in cairns nth qld cos there too old but i know that brisbane .sydney and melbourne wreckers still stock them from talking to members on here. I did have big 4 cly (2nd gen putting those aside for me but he has never returned my pm's:nuts: ). so if any member can get a hold of 2 lower control arm's (hopefully from the same car) plus a passenger side front door (rust is tooo bad to save the original) and a set of rear calipars i would absolutely worship the ground they walk on. here's my story.

^ months after i bought the tp i thought i'd repair any problems it had cos it was growing on me. I took the tp to a mech who had 50 yr's experence. because i needed the lower ball joints changed. the only reason i didn't do it myself wasd because i don't own a hydralic (sp?) press , so i thooght a mech with yr's unbder his belt could do it no worries. before i took it to him i asdked if he was confident to do the job (replacing the ball joints that is, i even told him that if he is ssoooooo confident i won't find a dodgy job when he was done. so anyway he got ****ty that i even questioned his knowledge, that was the first thing that made me go hmmmmm if he had any training or knowledge then he could show me.

anyway later that day i got a call saying it was all good no problems. So i had the gf pick the tp up and drive it home. as soon as she got home i got phone call from her saying that the tp was screeming going straight at 60klms:nuts: , strange i thought cos i had got a call before hers saying it was all good. made a quick dash home to do a test drive (bit anal about the cars i own doesn't matter how old they are)anyway she was spot on so i took it back and he tried to tell me it was like that when he got it but i had cleaned and de-greased all my under carrigre before taking to him because i don't trust mechanics . but he stood by his word even though he clearly ****ed up , so much for 50 yrs experience u ****y bastard. so it was a case of my word aganist his dammit.
anyway i took the tp to fulcrum (who specialise in custom off road appications) and they managed to straighten the arm's as best they could and fix what he mech previously ****ed up without batting an eye lid or saying it's just a magna, (top blokes who do there job to the 10th power no matter what u drive).

anyway after about 2 yrs the welds have given way and the ball joint on the passenger side is lose and making nosie. so i want two lower control arms left and right hopefully there off the same car plus 2 rear brake calipars and a passenger door , (just the door will do eveything else can be swapped over the the better door. seems that the tp front doors rust if you dont keep an eye on them.

so anyone can help pls pls let me now i love the tp and don't want to give it up if there's no need to (like getting help from members who are in bigger cities where they still stock parts for fist gens.

if yoy can help pls post up . if ot don't bother cos i luv my first gen and will not jump into a 3rd gen cos i don't like them and sick of ppl telling me to upgrade to one even though i think it's not much of an upgrade:D
cheers julian

ok mods the reason it didn't go into the for sale section is becuse no one will notice it cos it's not a 3rd gen( atleast if it's in the 1rst gen section then i know the 1st geners will see it who i know will help me out more. (should just call 3rd gen magna club cos if ur not driving one them eveyone pittys you) or tell u to dump ur old crap and upgrade to the hottness they drive (te or better) witch for me is gong backwards grrrr.

when off the car it is harder to tell if the lower control arms are any good

one day you might find a TP cheapie close to you

and get a whole car

because there are no parts up in cairns .... you will get your money back in time

this is a good door to door car carrying company as long as the car runs

I dont know if the rear wagon calipers are different

the wagons rear hub is so much wider in the hub

Smooths problem is also the cost of posting or courier costs to get them to Cairns

Oooo note to self don't post up after a big night out cos i ramble on and might offend other members (sorry 3rd gen peeps).

Ok now i supose the whole idea was to let big 4 cly see my post in hopes he shoots me a pm about parts cos he did have most of what i needed in his shed but maybe by now they have been discared(fingercrossed there still there).

Also i was hoping that a member might have an old 1st gen sitting in there yard collecting dust so to speak.

And buffy shipping it is not a problem , don't mind paying for it (the love for the tp is that strong).
for eg. i bought a set of eleite rims of an old member for 100 bucks but then it cost me $150 to ship.
Ive just got a feeling that i might get pulled over soon and defected for the rust.

so if anyone can get there hands on a rust free boot lid/rust free passenger front door, lower control arms both sides and the rear brake calipars pls let me know.
there don't have to be mint condition just in good working order(but no rust in the panels).
dammit i knew i should have keept the 50 dollar parts car i got rid of last year.
And not sure if the wagons calipars fit.
