So, was filling up today, and as I went to pay, looked at the price sign and saw E10 to be about 7c cheaper.
I must say, I was fractionally kicking myself,
As it is, my engine now is almost dead, so had it been bad, wouldn't mattered, plus I only put in 20Ls.
Has anyone here run, or do you run it often?
If so, noticed anything?
It is a higher octane and all, not like that'd make a diff for first geners.
But mmm, thoughts?

Presuming your car makes use of the 4G54's knock sensor... higher octane fuel does make a difference.

Only 2nd gen 4G54s have knock sensors, 1st gens dont.
I use E10 from united all the time. If anything it idles smoother then on standard ULP but maybe I'm just imagining it. I haven;t noticed a difference in ks per tank.

a link
http://www.fcai.com.au/ethanol.php/2007/05/00000005.html#reasons
100% E10 in the tank
TN auto
rocker roller mod
std yellow injectors
timed to 13 degrees
TPS .5
changed the plugs to new ones
new plugs fitted
dont worry about economy
certainly not bad or loosing power in the motor
checked all the rubber fuel hoses for perrishing an no sign of that
if anything happens I can call racq or Fix it myself

I ran it in the Elante with the lifted compression as it wouldn't run properly on standard fuel. It ran as well with E10 as it did with Vortex.

Ran this rubbish in the V8, after about half an hour it refused to idle, started overheating and lost a heap of power, so much that the MRS even noticed.
Would not touch it in an older car, have not been game to try it in a new car

What would you class as older car?
My 1960s era valiant, bug and alfa I wouldnt use e10 with, but anything with a cat converter i class to be 'new', so....
and yeah, no knock sensor. only starion early blocks had knocks for the turbo fitted.
