I just bought a KL Xi and reeeally need to replace the stock unit so i can listen to my iPod.

I've looked at a few headunits, generally prefer Alpine so the IDA-X001 and CDA-9885 etc. the X001 is cheaper, but no CD player (tho i never listen to CDs) but my problem is the shuffle.

On the Alpine site for the X001 states it has shuffle for albums and all songs. i NEED shuffle within playlists. this is pretty much my number 1 criteria for a headunit and is an absolute must.

So pretty much i'm not sure whether these 'iPod integration' h/u will be able to do this, and maybe i should just go lower end with an AUX input?

any advice appreciated!

Heres mine JVC double din unit
KW-XG506
Double-DIN CD Receiver with Front AUX

You need to get the intergration cable for the back but you can control your iPod through the stereo remote

And yes you can shuffle in playlist's with it.

awesome

The Alpine CDA 9885 is last years model so JB & I presume everyone else is selling them off cheap. I picked one up today for $250, ex display..last one in the store. They were selling for $499+ so it's a good deal if you can find somewhere with one left.

Anything from the new Alpine range, as they are a lot better than the old ones. Hi-speed connection. Don't bother with anything that uses a 3.5mm audio input jack from the ipod...it will sound like someonejust stabbed your ear with a butter knife then shoved some yoghurt down there.
