[This isn't a Wanted To Buy thread (as yet), so I haven't put it in the For Sale section.]
Just wondering what 380 GT and VRX rims are worth second hand - or alternatively if anyone has a set sitting around, what do you think they are worth.
I currently have the 16in LX rims and recently considered 19s, but as I am now enjoying pushing my car around more harshly after doing the simple mods, I'm now leaning towards the standard looking GT & VRX rims instead.
I assume the GT rims are ultra rare and probably cost way more than the VRX ones.
Also, any ideas where the rims could be found/bought? (ie good wreckers, etc)
I know Type40 just recently expressed interest in grabbing a set of these too, so I'm not the only one enquiring.

There was a set of GT rims (or VRX series 2) that were sold on Ebay this week for around $250 with tyres and in good condition. The only reason i didn't bid is because thats the style im not really interested in. But, i wish you had of posted this earlier as i would have linked you!

Edit... I just had a thought... Send Blue380 a PM. He may have some in stock! :D

Sorry guys, the bloke that bought mine on ebay (for $630) picked them up last week...after winning them & paying for them last October!!! Pity, I was actually thinking about putting them back on my car as I dont like the 18" rims I bought.

I actually bought these off E Bay for my TL AWD because I wanted 17s, and even used and gutter grazed 17s were costing at least $400.

I have recently bought a 06 380 lx, it has 17" vrx styled rims.

Why 16" fitted on ure model?

Had GT rims priced at kings in Ballarat (my home town) 17" GT rims only $275* + gst each
(*sorry guys price has changed apparently)

I am getting a set of the Enix 06 Shelby 20" rims for my magna. These look identical to the us galant sport/vrx wheels. quote is $2200 on goodyear execellance

Pity that every model has the VRX rims now... Mine's a Series 1 Limited Edition, released right at the end of the run (I thought it was great value until the Platinum Edition came out with Series 2). It is basically a "base model" with some extras... 1 of which are 16in alloy rims (from the LX) instead of 16in steel rims with plastic covers (which was standard for the base model back then). Anyway, they're just a door stop until I decide on something better (and bigger).
Your quote of $240... that is with tyres? That's better than I thought. Can those GT rims be bought/ordered through regular dealer/spare parts section? (for that price?)

Don't think so.. :doubt: $240 per wheel sounds closer to the mark. These sell for $260+ per wheel from Mitsu.

Sorry guy grubcall is right I have modified my post, the spare parts guy gave me an estimate has since check and they are 275 +gst per wheel no tires.

Please note guys this is for all the alloy wheels style is irrellevant. According to kings and since he stuffed up my satnav piece (wrong color) might not be 100% I would check with your local mitsu dealer.

Sorry guys

That's getting too pricey for 17s. By the time you put tyres on those rims, you're paying around $1,700-$1,800 (depending on tyre brand/price, etc). Tempe sell 20s for $2,000 (granted they are cheap tyres, but it puts these 17s in perspective).
But if you already have 17s and just buy the rims, its not as bad.

Went to Bob Jane today, just to have a look around. And they had a set of 20s for $1,600 cash! I didn't particularly like the rim, but I so love the price!!! Which means 380 GT rims are definately out of the equation for me.

But... Just think how average the tyres are for that money! You are better off getting 18's for that money with better quality tyres me thinks. Roadholding is pretty important! lol

They'd still look like 16"s though:P

Id save up for some 20"s with some DECENT tyres on em

Who needs grip when your on huggeeeee rims! :P Besides, they'll probably slow the car down enough that you won't need good tyres lol Aquaplaning ftw!
