grrr I got one of those (paid $120 from Tonkins :( ) and it doesn't work properly.
My headunit is listed on the website documentation (which had been removed last time i looked) as being fully compatible. They lied. After all sorts of nightmares and arguments they finally admitted it wasn't compatible.
So all the HU can control is the volume. So still usable, but just means everything has to be controlled from the ipod itself which isn't a huge hassle, but a lot of money to spend on something which doesn't work properly :(
I kept it anyway, as I did want to use the ipod.

Looks great, obviously the H/U has multiple background colours yeah?
Bit too blingy for me, but hey I'm a Gen X!
Is the unit b/tooth compatible?

looks pretty good - but im also guessing you like the colour red?
red dash, h/u background colour, red console, dunhill reds in the cup holders too...
just need to get a red ipod and the look will be complete
so these sorts of ipod adapters have much better sound than the FM ones right?
is the ipod saying "JVC" a normal thing coz its plugged into your headunit, or did you tell it to do that?

no the HU tells it to do that i have the exact ipod adaptor but mine is hooked up to a avx2 deck, its the same with alpine, pioneer and kenwood, plug your ipod in and it comes up on the screen

Yeap the HU has a few different background colors and different level meter looks.. all just wank factor.. not why i bought the unit...
No.. no bluetooth.. but no doubt JVC will bring out a module for that at another ridiculous cost..

JVC Have head units that are able to accept audio/video streaming from mobile phones via bluetooth and an ipod with an extra adapter.

There are heaps of reasonably priced doubldin units out there. It basically cmes down to quality.. In most cases it is true that u get what u pay for.. i had a el cheapo unit from HK a few years back and i got about 6 months out of it before the touch screen started to go.. just in one corner but it was the spot where u selected the menu from so not a good place to go...
IMO stick with a reputable brand.. it may set u back more but it'll last u longer!!
