Mate to be honest, ordinarily i would say don't touch it with a 10 foot pole. There are far more respectable brands out there at similar prices.

But looking at that catalouge and seeing those prices :noway: It will be hard to beat that

After all it is only for your stepson.......

Dude IMO Alpine speakers are very average, much better value for money elsewhere. Fusion gear is fine, they are so cheap because it is the same gear from 4 years ago just with a different cap and logo. As Lucifer said you get what you pay for. :D

Wait, so when you say Fusion gear is so-so, is that referencing all Fusion gear, or just the cheaper stuff?

Fusion has inconsistent measurements for all there speakers, its like they didnt follow any standard when making there products. Just a warning really, specially if your buying to fit existing mounts. When I research a global fitting flange for my audio products fusion is always left out because of there odd mounting measurements.

JVC dude, might not be the cheapest, but will be within a few $$ of it, and you get good quality stuff.

Bang for buck though, high end Fusion gear is pathetic for what it costs. Jonah Lomu series would be the only Fusion stuff I'd put in my car, and like I said, you pay too much for too little.

Apparently Fusion is made in NZ? Or so the 'great' people at Autobarn tell me.

I'm quite happy with my Rockford Fosgate setup, Big dint in the hip pocket but well worth it.

I have a fusion 10 inch sub tube in my car, i paid $200 for it new, i only bought it because it was cheap, its good for what it is, but there is alot better out there, i bought it because i dont listen to heaps of bassy music but the sub helps alot of music sound better, ive heard heaps of subs before and this one isnt that good, but it doesnt bother me.
Depends on how picky you are on how quality you want it to sound, if your not fussed its alot cheaper then spending heaps.
