after out growing my first sub for being too quiet, and smashing my second sub (aparently 700wms is too much for 600wrms lol) i have decided its time to go 'all out'

i want something thats going to be loud, but most of all you can feel. I have 1000wmrs to play with (Alpine MRD1005) at a 2ohm load.

i want whatever sub i decide to get in a sealed box.

I have narrowed it down to 2 different combos of subs

1x Alpine type X

OR

2x Alpine Type R

i think that 2 subs gives you that better 'feel' of the music which i really like

Type X dude. they are great.

i'd go the R's myself, they are loud and quite crisp, as well as being moderately efficient.

Type X is decent, but overrated imo, less efficient, and I really dont see much of a difference between the two

Type R's for street bass, Type X for SQ.

Considering you listen to house and hip hop, you'll most likely prefer the Type R's for their ability to shake your bones.

Type X is good but not great.

You could consider other models such as ID Max, Oz Audio Matrix, DD so on and so on.

I could see the benifit of going from 2 single voice coiled sub to one dual VC sub, but i dont see for what you are after that the jump from the R to the X would provide the same benifit that adding a second R. i have an R and for its money its amazing, i wish i could have another :D

for the gain in volume and force, 2 Rs is the go IMO

+3. I loved a guy that had 2x type s in a sealed box with 700wrms go look how funny sick my stereo is. I just said get a load of this, and he thought I had a 15... :bowrofl: When he seen the 12inch Oz and 600WRMS he couldn't believe it.

If you wanna get loud go DD
If you wanna sound good and loud go Oz / ID / Hertz / Boston
If you wanna sound like every other fool go the 2x type r
For every else their's Mastercard...

go 2 type r's, i had 4 back in the day. the amount of bass was amazing. and the frequency range they can hit is spot on.
