hi guys..
im thinking of trading my 2 SVC subs for one DVC sub.
the only problem is the amp im using is 4ch. at the moment i have it bridged to 2ch and running one ch to each sub.

can i run one channel to each voice coil on the dvc sub?????
ive googled it and found a few things saying yes you can... but ive also found some saying its a great way of killing your sub... dont wanna do it if its gunna wreck the sub or the amp... is anyone here using this wiring option or know if its ok to do.

When you buy your DVC sub, assuming it's new, it'll come with a little brochure telling you how to install it. If you're using one, I think it's One coil to one channel, don't quote me on that. If it's not new, let me know and i'll scan the brochure that came with my mates JVC DVC sub.

yes u can run one channel to each coil, just make sure they are in phase and the gains are as close as you can get them.

Oh and make sure you're not in stereo. Sub should be in mono, as long as each voice coil sees the same signal you'll be fine.

May I ask why? You are making life very hard.

Check to see if your sub has DVC 2ohm coils and use ch 3&4 ( ch 1&2 can run speakers ) or
Sell the 4 channel and run a mono

It is extremely hard to match power outputs out of 2 bridged channels of a 4ch amp. Never seen it done properly. What gear are you talking about?

dont think im gunna bother. i was gunna trade my 2 kenwoods (400rms each) for a earthquake 1000rms. but i think im gunna stick to my subs for a while then sell whole set up and get a mono and one sub.
and about running it off ch.3 and 4 and speaker off the other, if i done that would only be give a 1000rms sub 300rms.

but as i said changed my mind.
yann89 i dont need those scans now. thanks anyway.

lol, I was going to pick them up tomorrow afternoon for ya :P doesnt matter I guess. there's a certain way to wire them up if there's two subs running off a 2ch. I've got a kenwood monoblock running two single coil subs. I vote sell your gear and buy a monoblock dude.
