I seem to have some sort of oil like substance leaking onto the carpet in front of the front passenger seat.
I cant seem to find where it is coming from. Has anyone heard of this happening before?

I have never heard of oil, which I really thing is unlikely.

I think, if you look closer, it is probably coolant, which is not a good thing. I would try fix this ASAP, as its probably leaking from you heater box thingo for warm air in the car. Try have a look at the heater box and check all your coolant levels.

actually now that you mention it i just bypassed my heater because it was leaking coolant very slowly. so i guess that would have been where the mess was coming from.

By the way, have you ever used any radiator cleaner or flush before??? Just curious coz my brother used it in a Camry a few years old once, and not too long after I think it was his heater core that started leaking. Been a bit wary of such products since.

If it is oily, it might be the compressor oil in the A/C, it circulates through the entire system. The "O" rings do give up sometimes. Just an alternative idea.

I havnt personally but cant say for services centres ive taken my car to.
