Just finished the manual conversion on my TF, and want to know if i can attache the retainer (or surround) from the manual gear shifter straight to my console piece- or do i need to replace the console piece itself??

What are my options??

I'm not sure if you need a new console, I wouldn't think that you did..

however I have a gear boot in black leather that you can buy off me when I get my black leather and red stitching one :)

But i still need to know if the retainer thingo will fit the auto console?? And where can i get one from?

i got one if ya need it bonnie just gimme a yell and you can have it mate i also have the ring that holds the shift boot to the stalk

just glue the boot to the under side of the plastic, i had wood grane in my old 2nd gen and did this

what does? the manual gear boot for an auto console? no such thing dude :nuts: i suggest getting some really strong glue and just gluing it as sugested, or you could get crafty and cut out a rectangle out of plastic to suit the shape and then screw that into the console to make it removable

The console has little lugs whre you can screw the boot in from the underside.

Even the Verada woodgrain has these lugs, even though there was never a boot made for them.

on a te tf th tj and possibly the tl tw they use the same piece for auto and manual have a look underneath and there is 4 holes where the screws go into for the manual boot!!!

yeah ive put a manual shifter boot onto my auto, its easy cheezy and auto and manual consoles are exactly the same

I didnt make a good first impression man, the one time he has come to my place it was 4:30 in the afternoon and I was spewing in the back yard cos Id been drinking all day. First impressions last, so I believe this offer may fall through.. :)
