Just wondering if through-out production of the 5spd manual box's if there was any changes made by mitsubishi? Was there ever an LSD made for the 2nd gens? Is there good serial numbers to get with the gearboxs like the 2.6 heads (m13, m28) or bad ones?
Any feedback or info would be greatly appreciated.

what you could do is buy the last of the
4 cyl TS models gearbox and have a LSD fitted into it
if there were any mods done it would have happened by then

No mods that I am aware of.
I believe the FTO LSD fits them, from memory an old member here podrcr did this years ago

AFAIK, the earlier 2nd gens had significant syncro problems but was rectified in the later 2nd gens, 94+, i could be wrong tho

well the other option I got is, now I have a spare, I could send it in to get syncro's, straight cut gears and an LSD fitted and put that in once its finished? :P but then theres the $4,000 bill.... :bowrofl:

Yeah, it is called a sense of humour, should see if you can pick one up with your gear box, these also come in variable speeds :D (JK)
I can not see how the GTO would fit as you were talking about 4cyl heads, I assume that you have a 4cyl thus the GTO will not fit the engine.
With a V6, would be interesting to see if the GTO mounts and shafts were compatible.

I know this is a threadmine, BUT This is exactly the sorta stuff i was looking for... and now for my next question.
IF! I intended to swap my tranny over to a manual on my 4 cyl TS, would a GTO LSD bolt in no worries (do these connect to the ecu at all) or would this be a problem cos mines not a 6 cyl (sorry im not on the know with Gearboxes... yet). Also, where would i go about sourcing one?

Wait what
6cyl gearbox wont line up with a 4cyl gearbox.
Quaife and OBX make LSD inserts for the V6 GTO manuals but not sure on whats available for the 4cyl, but as madmagna said, a guy by podcr or something did it a while back so might be worth tracking him down?
