hey folks
just wondering if anyone knows the stock hp/kw figures for a 5 speed manual vrx at the wheels.
I've read that it's 163kw but i'm not sure if that's at the flywheel or atw.
Also, if anyone can post up some n/a power figures for any third gens they have and the mods that they've done to get those figures that'd be great

cheers

5spd Manual man, expect 125-130, I believe BlackBeard got 134kW(???) from his stock VRX.

also remember every dyno is different power figure wise also temp heat soak etc all make a difference on the final figure.

Generally people seem to get between 125-130kw for stock or close enough to manual vrx/sports, though I've seen 120kw a couple of times. 163kw at the flywheel.

This is my last and only dyno so far:

Ignore the title, didn't have EZboy's manifold on for that particular run. Engine mods are:

-full 2.5 exhaust with RPW "race" extractors with 2.5" flex/dump pipe, 3" Metal CAT and straight through Maganflow rear muffler. No centre muffler, replaced with 2x "hotdog" resos.

-Barry's fuel rail/earthing/gasket kits

-K&n panel

On that particular run the O2 senor fell out the back hence the wierd AFR graph. Was actually sitting around 12.5:1 through the midrange and top-end - I know, much leaner than the norm for factory tune, don't ask me why.

There will always be a small variances between different dynos on different days, so they are more of a good guide than a dead-accurate measurment.

Wasn't the 134 after the mods were put back onto his (Exec?) Magna? Definately not a VR-X.

i think 140 after mods went on and yeh not a vrx. Maybe type in 'dyno day' in and search a check the results...some have done it without mods. i got around 116kw in an auto sports. 137kw as listed in profile

Yeah, was 121kw with the auto, and 141kw with the same mods on a manual version.

cheers for all the replies guys!
any chance blackbeard i could get a list of the mods and costs they had for those figures?
i am by no means a hoon but i'm also not a millionaire either and i do like my acceleration. Speeding is for the commies and such i just wanna be able to take off at the lights and know my car will react when i put the foot down.

cheers all

Same mods as Chisholm but with an Emanage piggyback ECU controlling fuelling and ignition timing. So his 140kW is more impressive, I'm sure he'll be able to give you a better idea of how much he's spent getting to that point, for me that's ancient history - if I were to tell you a cost it would only be a guess.
