the lower control unit is different on the TR
the rear should be easier if the stub axle is the same size on both models
the front needs the TR stub axle ,rotor ,and calipers
custom Cv drive shafts if the splines are different
thebeast.

I've seen a first gen with 5 studs just last month. so yeah it can be done
How well would the 2nd gen rear discs fit? as they have differing hand brake designs? My understanding is you would need to use the original 1st gen rear brake calipers which would only work if the 5 stud 2nd gen discs were the same diameter and width, correct?

you can have larger rotor and smaller caliper, so you could use 2nd gen disc and 1st gen calipers.
would be abit of a brake improvement to as you are extending the coverage of the pad to utilise more of it.
personally though, unless your getting serious power to need to use 5 stud wheels and rotors...... it ain't worth it.

the reason i am asking is i am going to 19inch rim's and it's easier to get 5x114.3 then 4x114.3 for the 19's that i want and they were saying that if i had a 5 stud conversion it would be easier to fit that really why i am asking .............

only other way is to have first gen hubs engineered to have 5 studs
might mean turning up a custom stub axle set
but that might be cheaper
the 4 holes get filled in and 5 stds fitted
intresing to see your mod if you do it

umm, hmm,
If you want a list why your idea won't work, then I'll tell.
If you want to spend more than the idea is worth, then i'll stay silent.
but in the end, you will need more than a 5 stud conversion.
from what I've seen you do on your car so far, and the idea you have for its future, you would be better with a MY99 Impreza WRX Evo...

my idea for it's future is for it to be 1 clean looking magna wagon .... whats so wrong about being different .... okay i am looking at 19's for it yes it's gettin painted black with a gold pearl .... yes it has a stereo to match ..... yes it has bonnet vent's .....
but isn't that the idea of everyone being different .......... i hear ppl all the time say this and that can't be done ..... is that because ppl are afraid of being different and doing it .....
i am not gettin up you or anything i am taking what u say and everyone has a freedom of speech .....
i just wanna do something that ppl arn't doing all the time and make it work okay it takes money and time ..... but in the end isn't the reward worth it of having done those thing's
1. I don't think you'll be able to get those 19s under the guards, front or rear, unless you don't put any rubber on them. :P
2. It still wont look as nice as mine lol

Bingo!
I'm only trying to help you dude, if you wanna do it, go ahead, hell Sogg spent well on 10k with his car and it was a screamer.
19s are for show, and a waste of $$$
put the dosh to better use, the cost of a 19" conversion is not worth it, at the very max, go 18s x7, thats the biggest you'll acomplish.
dont believe me? measure the diameter of your wheel arch.
Ive spent 10k on mine, and still not finished, I doubt theres many wagons that can handle like mine. I'm not stopping you, just informing you, moneys better spent elsehwere than rims with small brakes.

yeah okay cause the tyre size i was looking at was 215/35/19's ........
yeah i have to agree now that i am weighing up the odd's 19 are really only for show ....
it's just here in brissie well i don't know of to many magna wagon's and i want it to be 1 really nice wagon so any input would be sort after like i have the low spring's i have the cross drilled rotor's i have the uni-filter , exhaust , extractor's , tr roller rocker conversion , blue top injector's . i want input on what other thing's are out there to do i have a tr head gettin worked on .....

well, it all comes down to personal tastes.
But heres a thought, not many first geners here, but im sure others will vote.
make a poll where you can vote more than once.
put in all the ideas you wanna do that you think would be good, from that you'll have input, and if you have a low result on 1, really wanna know why, you can get some insight.
in the end, the most subtle mods are the best.
I'm all about flash, with 2-tone body, 2-tone rims, decals, loud canons, body kits and heavy tint.
that alone for me is a s* load of show, and I have a decent setup to give it some go as well.
heres stuff to think about.
bodykit
paintjob
flashers 17" rims
hydro suspension *if your real keen*
turbo with obvious bov
excentric (sp) zorost tips.
rear wing ( i was toying with this idea)
etc... all up to you and your wallet.
I'vce been tinkering with my car for 7yrs, and only now I believe i've found its groove, it looks means, it handles awesome, soon to go very awesome, and is as light as my fto.
enjoy.
