Hi Folks,
Thought I'd ask for some help here cos i'm a bit stuffed. I've got a Kenwood KDC x-7006u head unit which i've just stuck in the magna, works a treat except for one small snag. I'm having trouble getting it to talk to either of my ipods.

I've got the ip200 cable that came with the headunit and it recognises and plays tracks from my new ipod nano, video, but no sound comes out... which is a bit odd. My other ipod which is an older 20gig ipod picture, before the video model, is just recognised as a mass storage device. Has anyone had a similar problem and has some advice/tips/tricks/etc?

The head unit was just flashed to firware 2.72 as well with no difference as far as i can tell.

which generation unit is it? if its older then the 4th generation chances are that kenwood dont support that unit from memory.

youre not going to like this but get a new head unit, i went from a kenwood to an alpine and the kenwood was better specced with 5 more watts per channel and the alpine sounds much better, also has 1 cable for ipod. just a thought

naw the kenwood 7 series are a great deck with plenty of features, im an alpine man myself as well but if i was going to have a standard CD player and not an AV id take either this unit or the Alpine dedicated Ipod deck (cant remember part no)
