just a quick question in reference to the AWD TJ / JK / TL / KL / TW / KW owners out there and anyone else who might know.

doing a bit of bored internet research for the AWD magna / verada, and on most of the pages i went to, along with the list of specifications and badges and the like, it says:
- AWD badge - front quarter panels
- AWD badge - Boot lid
- AWD badge / logo - in the chrome shifter surround
and something i never seen before
- AWD Badge / logo in the instrument cluster

same thing is mentioned on this site for the KL AWD too

i have everything else in my car badge wise - but nothing "on the instrument cluster"

was it something that never made it to production, or did not every car get that particular part?

soz for silly question but yeah just wondering if anyone knew anything about that?

havnt seen a tl / kl awd with the AWD sticker on the rear door yet :s

I have AWD on my dash. I deleted most of the badges on mine. Somehow I don't think Magnas are going to have the "it it matching numbers? Or is it a factory VRX?" Cache of Ford GTHOs, and this is a blessing.

so thats for the awd tj / kj then and the reviews i have found stated the same for the awd tl kl..

whiteawd - would you mind posting me a pic of your dash mounted AWD?
assuming its not the same one as the one thats on the chrome surround..
ya never know tho, these cars might in say.. 50years or so be highly regarded as being original / numbers matching! by that stagte might have gotten about half of thier new car value back! lol

It wouldn't surprise that the dashboard on yours has been replaced. More likely a warranty thing by a dealer who didn't realise and/or care.

All of the different AWD's have AWD badging on the bootlid, shifter plate as well as having AWD printed on the tacho on the instrument cluster. The main difference is the placement of the badging on the side of the cars. The TJ/KJ has the badge on the rear door above the lower crease line, the TL/KL has the badge on the front guard & the TW/KW has the badge on the rear door below the lower crease line.

i allready had to replace my drivers side panel AWD badge - $16 it cost me!

if someone could induldge me in a pic of a cluster / dash with AWD on it, that would be great :)

My cluster if it has been replaced seems to have been replaced with a verada one, as it lights up in 4 stages as per the owners manual says it should..

Olden? (not a spelling mistake) no thanks same company when it all comes to it GM Quality, i think i might pass on that :P

I do think for the "matching numbers" effect you need AWD on your cluster. You could remove your cluster and have it engraved. Probably better to have it replaced with a factory AWD cluster.

doddski our kl awd`s dont get the logo on inst cluster as we have the electro-luminn thingo ahhaah cluster !! as in lights up in 3 stages,the base models got the logo as their clusters are standard.

idiot warning lights
backlighting (the white glow effect so to speak)
needles for temp & fuel tank
needles for speedo & tacho
(i might have the order wrong slightly tho i think..)

its not actually a badge , its more like someone has gotten a glue gun and just written AWD on the door.
i reckon it looks crap and wish it wasnt there..

sorry dude theyre a different cluster well in lighting terms when the clusters off they almost completely black i guess its one of the ways of distinguishing between models
