View Full Version : 5spd 3.0l th magna flat spot

Hi have 99 th magna which especialy when cold tends to have a dead spot between 1/4 and 3/4 pedal. when hot it surges at the same point. no fault codes showing and have had every sensor in the car tested to no avail. it has had no mods all standard had new clutch dizzy etc . do not want to spend much more have put 000's tring to find the prob help!

every v6 magna has a flat spot from idle to 2.5k rpm, ezboy is currently developing a manifold to ease the flatspot and currently has flowed TB's which help quite a bit as well.

A flowed TB would help.

It seems to have started when the timing belt stripped itself at 160,000kms.the timing turned a fair way but no valve damage or engine damage was done.

It's because it's the 3lt, the entire engine is a flat spot :D 3.5lt FTW!

A flowed TB would help.

And an earthing kit and clear indicators aswell :)

this manual 3ltr goes quicker than the old tj 3.5ltr auto i had

i had some pacemaker extractor's and a high flow throttle body fitted to my old 3.0l manual a few years ago and the car did feel more willing in that dead zone,would be a few more dollar's than your willing to spend but worth it
