giday all, just gettin some ideas for cold air induction, and panel filters vs. Pod filters. lately ive been thinkin of grabbin a pod filter with some kind of air induction. Either a pipe to the bumper, or ive always though of vents directly above the pod. Yesterday i came upon the idea of just grabbing a K&N panel filter for now and hooking up an induction to the bumper. *(mainly because i dotn wanna butcher my car as yet)
What are your responses to this?
Has anyone had vents put in? wat kinda $$ are we talking about here?
ALso, does anyone know where i can get the silver air con vent tubing stuff?
cheers

Yours is a V6 TE right?
Didnt they already have a CAI setup? It picks up air from near the bonnet?

yeh but its ***kin crapmate. think about it, it branches up to the bonnet, a bonnet which is sealed shut, and the opening is about 20mm. not worth it, this piece is removable, which is wat im thinking of doing. by doin this, im not butchering my car.

in all current magna's they all use the same intake as the TE and i have one and cant complain they are great. they make similar aftermaket one's for other car's where the magna gets it stock so consider yourself lucky

Ah I see...well it's better than none I spose..
If you wanted to make it better..Look into using the fog light mountings as an intake spot for the CAI

pod Vs panel...
right know id say go the panel (widdow...u know u luv me) with a good CAI setup...alot cheaper then the pod...
But...if the pods had something better to hold em id go that...but they dont...
Ive got a pod, used to have the KnN panel id i luv the pod noise over the panel...and acceleration is smoother...just need sum CAI and a lil sumfin nicer to hold it...not 2 ugly strips of tin shit!
The piping for your CAI can be picked up at your local hardware shop quit cheap! Have fun doing it and let us know how you go!

Also when setting up the CAI piping..try to avoid 90 degree angles...the smoother the flow the better improvement you will get
