View Full Version : Getting Access to Indicator Stalk

as some of you might know, ive experianced the buzzing flasher relay issue, so i replaced the flasher relay only to find out its still happening, so i figured id take off the plastic bits to get access to the indicator stalk, now im new to this and i figured id ask for advice before proceeding this buzzing is giving me a headache :S someone help me out

It's pretty easy to get at. Raise the steering wheel to it's highest position, reach underneath with a fairly long #2 Phillips screwdriver, and remove the 3 screws in the lower cover. Drop the wheel as low as it'll go, and lift the top cover off, and the bottom should come away easily.

kool, thanks for that, just wondering if i have to apply some force to get the plastic covers off or will they come off easily?, also im assuming i dont need to take the steering wheel off to take off the indicator and clean the connections? thanks again

They might need a bit of forcing to get them loose, IIRC there's a few plastic pegs that locate the covers, sometimes they're a bit stuck.
You don't need to pull the wheel off, thankfully. The indicator stalk unit sits on the steering column, and you should be able to unscrew it easily.

Yep thats all right it is very easy to gain access to and to remove without mush of a headache unlike some previous cars I have owned.
