Long saga - Broken down >>>>>
Found out my Brake lights were not working last year, immediately thought bulbs, replaced them, no luck.
Took my car to Auto Electrician - He told me that he "Reconditioned" my Stop light switch
Didn't think too much about it until I was told they were not working again
Went to an Autobarn just down the road, tried to order a new one on a sunday, was told it would be there Monday, rocked up Monday to the tune of my bad it wasn't ordered and I can't see anything about it beyond that you have paid for it, It would be ordered then and be available wednesday.
Was happy enough with that, Came back on Wednesday, told that it hadn't turned up and that then I had to pay freight on it, Wasn't too impressed, but assured it would be there Thursday.
Thursday comes, part didn't come in until 4:30, so I rock up after work, pick up the switch, notice it only has 2 power connectors, not 4 - Went back, asked them about it - then they tried to make some thing which attached onto the 2 and made 4 seperate wires, told to go and try it - no luck at all, take it back, given a full refund (inc freight)
Go home, check the fuses, fuse looks OK, no breaks or burns, think why not, test another fuse in there - Barely touched the new fuse in and it blew - Bugger
Checked the stop switch and the plastic guide around the connectors was loose, thought why not, swapped it around, plugged it back in, new fuse
LIGHTS WORK
Was showing a mate my new 6x9's tonight, he asked me if my brake lights were still playing up, was like narh man, all fixed now - showed him and im told, mate, nothing is showing, no lights =(
What is there for me to try now, I'm assuming that there is something wrong with the switch itself as it was working fine just before that, changed fuses again after I was told they were not working tonight, still no change >_>
