it's not the mirrors, it may sound like it's coming from the mirrors, but it's actually the door belt mouldings, it's very hard to fix but you could try to make it better by removing sharp overhanging bits of moulding, but before you start cutting it, just try to tug it in or use Nitto tape to tape it up and take it for a drive on the free way before you do anything else, if you've taped up the half side of the car belt moulding and it's still whilsting, then yes, you can conclude that it is something else, so then you start taping the mirror to find out whether it is the mirrors. ^_^,
this is what i do at work. ^_^, have fun.
P.S, I use more race tape than the V8 super cars at work.

i had the very same problem in mine from around 120km upwards
when i got the respray, the noise went away!! :D
so me happy now... :D
Where your mirrors are, here is a panel that can be taken off.. Once thats off there is a screw that hold the opposite side on (the outside part).
It may have come loose.
Dude it so is the morrors cos my car was doin it too.. then i put some high quality electrical tape over the gap bit on the top of the mirror at the leading edge and back to about half way and it stopped the whistling... or for a more cleaner option try some silicon(colour coded if necessary). make sure you do it neatly.. try wetting your finger with a detergent/water solution, and run your finger over it keeping your finger very wet to smooth out the silicon.
Might have to check this out on my car, I always thought that the noise was just related to the windows not sealing properly because they are pilar-less...
if you are gettin a whistle with the window up it's the seals but with the window down it's the mirror... that's how it was on my car. 99 TH which had seen too much sun

yeah, the mirrors do whistle with the windows down (in mine from about 80km/h+) and its funny course you put your finger on top of the mirror and it stops!! :D the tape sounds like a good idea, might have to try that one...
as for the other whistle... yeah the windows will whistle, i keep mine with armourall type stuff and it tends to preserve them and keep a better seal!
