Just purchased a 2000 TJ Solara, the previous owner (from new) had to have the auto completely overhauled at 62,000. He told me it cost several thousand, can't remember exactly, and he was warned several years prior that there was a possible fault with that model (something about selector rod he said) and that he should have the fault rectified before it destroyed its self, but he didn't. I checked with the auto trans specialist, and they verified that the work was done, complete o/haul inc torque converter, but would not elaborate. (receptionist)
My question is, does any body have any information about this apparent fault that this model apparently has. I am curious as to what it was and if anybody else has had problems or knows about them
Cheers,Pablo.
