Muffler, get the Lukey Lr2779 :) I'll recommend that till I die!
Dunno if it was designed for the 4cyls tho...just have a look into it.
and kW was 92 I think for the 2.6, 120 for the V6

With simple mods the 2.6 can be made to go hard as hell. The best thing about them is their torque, they have bucketloads of it.
The only disadvantage of them is they aren't very economical, especially for a 4cyl.

yer shes been looked after use to belong to my father and never missed a servce. the top half of the motor was rebuild in 2000 after the famous magna clicking noise turned to cost big bucksbut shes all good now
i keep you updated with the mods/inprovements
power is not 92kW - it's 98 with standard ULP and 102 with 95RON. Torque is 212 @ 3750rpm (ULP) and 220 @ 4000 (PULP). Got these figures from my Owner's Manual :)

Owners manual figures arent always 100% accurate but the power is definitely in the 90's.
Port and polish it..and then turbo...those things FLY!

Yeh my 2.6 TS was shocking on fuel.
To port and polish your head / recon youd be looking at around 600 easy. I wouldn't bother. Kill your astron then save up for a newer TS astron with a manual transmission. Could pick the whole lot up for 1600 easy.
