Last night I hit a pole going about 4km/h in a car park (cbf telling the whole story, was a stupid mistake needless to say!). Got a quote from Eastside Mitsubsihi dealer (Victoria) panel beater at $180. Does this seem fair? Also what about Touch Up paint, will it cover most of these marks? Thanks guys. BTW, I live in eastern suburbs near Templestowe.

is there any dents?

if you do touch it up yourself, make sure you use good paint, and do the job properly, sand it back etc... otherwise you end up with a dull section in the paint, i dont know about you but i wouldnt want that. ring a few panel beaters in your area to get a good idea of pricing.

There is no dents but the paint has come off/the first layer of protection. Can this lead to rust?

if it was on a metal part they yes, cause its on your bumper and its plastic it won't rust

Is the guard scratched as well?

If it was my car I'd want the whole bar painted so I think $180 seems reasonable.
I was quoted $380 to redo my front bar plus a bit of blending in on the guards but it ended up cheaper to buy & fit a second hand bar in the same colour.:D

Hey mate $180 seems like a good price, We charge $200+gst for paint per bar at work plus any plastic repairs that may need doing eg; cracks or deep scratchs.......cheers brett:D

When a tool reversed into my front bar with his towbar, I got the hole fixed, the whole bumper rubbed back, and resprayed for $250.

So if $180 is for the whole bumper getting sprayed, then that sounds pretty good.

You're better off doing the whole thing, than getting that section tocuhed up...

Unless you're strapped for cash and need a quick, temporary cover up.

If you're talking about the Mitsubishi stuff, I'd give it a miss. I bought a small touch-up kit for some small marks on the front bumper (not my fault :P). Despite being an official product specifically for my colour, I found the paint didn't really match. Not a problem for me since they're really small, but it'd really stand out on something as big as yours.

$180 for that is a good price. i also start at $200 when painting a bar plus repairs, so i reckon your doing well at that price.
