Just wondering if anybody has tried this small dent removal method?

Or have any other methods to remove small dents without damaging the paint.

I had a reasonable large dent that i copped in a car park on my passenger door.
It was actually like two dents.
On my 3rd Gen, where the door changes angle about half way up, there was a dent just below and just above it from the same door that hit it.
BOY, was i fuming?!
I ended up calling a guy that does paintless dent removal. He was like a magician! It was gone in no time! Both dents!
Unless u knew where it was hit, and get the sun to bounce off the door at a specific angle, you cant see it! And if u do, it just looks like a ripple, which most cars have anyway!
He said these were reasonable large dents, so for smaller ones, it should be even easier!
He came to me, and how much did he charge me, you ask?
$80.... for everything.

I wish they were that cheap here in Canberra. I got a quote for a similar dent to yours in my driver's door. $250 per door was the quote - no matter how many dents!!!! Faaaar freakin out

There's a couple of these techniques that I've seen, basically involving making the dent only very cold, then heating it quickly, the theory being that if the metal hasn't stretched too far, it'll pop back to it's original shape.
Haven't tried any of them yet, but would like to; anyone know where to get a cheap cooling agent, like a small piece of dry ice, or an aerosol that'll chill without leaving residue?

I had a few small dents spread over my car and had them all taken out for about $100, there was like 6 or 7 of them. The guys that did mine were from Ausdent and they knew what they were doing to, looks a heap better. I think Ausdent is a franchise company so there could be one near you.
Here's a link...

Good luck.

i buy dryice from BOC outlets, $5/kg or something like that.
(don't drive home with dryice inside your sealed cabin; don't get freezeburnt)
Can buy freezer spray from Jaycar/DSE but its not cheap,
you'll waste heaps on big heat-conducting metal panels.

onkytonk, you didn't describe this 'magicians' method, did he use any method where the panel was heated then rapidly cooled, or did he push out the dents from behind?

for rapid cooling use come compressed air , turn the can upside down , and spray , wear gloves if doing it for any length of time as the outside of the can will freeze also

oh, sorry.
He used a leverage system, basically pushing the dents from behind. Didn't remove the door skin or anything. Went in through the window opening.
Within about 2 minutes the main dents were practically gone. But he spent a bit of time following trying to get it as perfect as possible. He used like a roller thing, and also hammered into different sections of the door panel with a rubber nail punch looking thing. He said this was to relieve tension and pressure from surrounding parts caused by the dent. He probably spent about 30 minutes all up. He was very particular and had great attention to detail - which i loved.
Once he was done, he used a very very low grit wet sand paper and a polish.
My dents were relatively large he told me. But like he said before he started...
He can't really make it worse.
Can not recommend him enough. If anyone is in Melbourne, and needs some dents removed, let me know and i'll pass on his details.

My problem is that the main dint I have in my door (small but fairly noticeable) is right behind the intrusion bar, meaning it's very hard to reach from behind; I've looked at doing it a few times when putting in my power windows.

dent extractors @ Cardiff all the way...
had a fairly big one in the passenger door from someone punching or kicking it (believe me no car door opening could have done this) did it in about 20 mins cost $80. IMO very reasonable. unfortunately at the time i didnt have the extra time or money on me but he told me he'd get every dent outta it (and believe me the carpark dents were and still are noticeable and annoy the $%^& outta me) but for $500 would get every dent out :) will be going there soon as i now have a new daily driver, and once its spent the magna wont be going to carparks again :P
ever since the big hail storms there are dent extractors all throughout newy, so hopefully there are at least some near you dude. if there were any about id give them a call and get a quote before anything. that way you dont run the risk of ****ing ur paint over or spending cash on something that doesnt work. mind you, if the dent extractors stuff your car over, theyre liable so thats another thought.
anyone got an experience doing this? i've got a dent from a kangaroos tail, it's like 5 small dents from the vertebra all joined together, would be nice to have it gone.
