can anyone tell me if i can fit a v6 in to a 24 valve v4 engine bay any help would be greatly appreciated

someone more in the know correct if im wrong, BUT

im sure you could. its not like they changed the engine bay size just to fit the v6 in stock..

this is a 3rd gen magna right?

nah i'm pretty sure it will fit they're the same engine bay just different engines...but will need just about the whole front section for the parts.

yeah should fit just buy a wreck so you have all the parts, make sure ya give us progress pics if ya go ahead with it

yeah its a 3rd gen and i do intend on doing it ,screamin te has got an engine if i wanna try and the way i see it i am gonna basically run this engine i have got into the ground then respray whilst engine is out then [try]and fit the v6

engine mounts will probably be your biggest problem

then you've got the electronics to deal with

personally i wouldnt bother.. sell yours and buy a v6 model if you really want a v6

but im not one to be interested in jobs like these so go for it if you think its worth while!

I agree with Chris, and I dont :P

It all depends on how far you want to take the car. If your going to leave the 3.5motor stock, or simply add some bolt ons, then its not worth it. It will be much easier to sell what you got, and buy a 3.5L stock.

However, if you take it as an opportunity to work the motor, then by all means do it. Having the motor out of the car makes it alot easier to work on, ie, cheaper labour costs for engine build.


Dont forget, your gearbox will need to be different. Not sure about the finer things hower, ie CV joints, suspension connections etc
