Howdy all;
I was doing abit of looking around yesterday and i stumbled accross an amp at pro sound in newie
Now im still learning about amps and how they affect the sound of the speekers/sub so i thought that Id ask for some "profesional" help.
The amp is a Clarion APX1300 mono block amp and he has reduced it to $200 from $299 as long as i get it this week

Good amp. I've got the same running my SB12XB sub. Sounds really good.

It serves a price point. It depends on what your running to how well it goes. Another value for money amp is the Jaycar 2x 150WRMS, that will make 1x 500WRMS @4ohm if your sub has thirsty coils. :D

Im running 1 middle of the range clarion sub that should perform pretty well. Its currently running off a very old pioneer 2 channel amp that does absolutly nothing for the sub for power, hence the possible upgrade.

As long as the sub can be confirgured to present a single 2 ohm load then yeah. :D

What exactly do you mean by configured? As i said before im kinda a novice when it comes to this sort of thing

Well there are many ways for a sub to achieve a minimal resistance. In your case, just check to see if your sub is a DVC ( Dual Voice Coil ) and they are DVC 4ohm. Clarion only make SVC ( Single Voice Coil ) with a 4 ohm coil and DVC 4ohm. Hopefully you have the second. :D

yea they also make dual 2ohm in the PXW series

hahaha yea its about time!
recently installed 2x PXW1252 (dual 4) into a commodore with custom ported box and running off theyre DPX1800 mono (800rms) and the thing hammered
i was actually slightly impressed lol

hahahaha no...we dont sell pioneer...hence the questions bout pioneer 5.1...

At least people now know where to go in Vic ( is that where Morley is? ) as another store for their audio. Has anyone been their or have had friends that have been their?

yea well i always try and do the best job i possibly can!
and if anyone is keen for help on anything im always happy to help (obvious plug i know!)
