Hey guys, I'm looking at buying a tj magna and I think I've found one I want, but I'm not sure if the price is right.

Its a 2000 executive with 147000k on the clock, 3.5L, no books but is running on lpg.

The seller wants $7300 for it, which seems to be too much seeing as a 99 th sports just sold for $6500 with 109000k on the clock.

Is $7300 a reasonable price? If not what is $6000?

Also about how many k's to a tank would I expect to get with lpg?

Thanks for any insight you can offer guys.

2000 MITSUBISHI MAGNA

TJ Executive Sedan 4dr Auto 4sp 3.5i
Prices based on km 120,000 - 200,000
Trade in price guide* $3,700 - $5,100
National average price - private sale* $5,800 - $7,400
Price when new (RRP) $30,290
With those sort of kms and no books, but with the added benefit of lpg, and IF the car ran/sounded/looked good, i'd throw an off of $6500 down and see how you go.

Its an auto, is there anything specific I should look for with a car of those sort of kms?

Does anyone know of a good mechanic on the north side of brisbane that I could trust to get it looked at? This is only my second car, I've got an 85 corolla atm so I just do my own servicing so I haven't had a chance to look for a reliable mechanic.

The seller has obviously gone to the top end of the average sale price. Idea would be to get it as close to the trade in value as possible ($5000) I always offer the lowest end of the average sale price to begin with so offer 5500 and see what happens, tell them your offer is based on average red book prices.

As for the car the k's are pretty much right on average, having no books is a shame but also a bargaining tool. Def take it to a mechanic.

Don't go above $6000 on the first offer/visit if they won't take it give him a week then go back re-offer $6000. I wouldn't go past 6-6500 personally.

The lower you can get the price the more you can spend on mods!

You can get RACQ to come out and do a mechanical inspection before you buy the car. Just ask the seller if they are cool with that first, if they have a problem with you getting an inspection done then dont buy it.

I have a series 2 TJ on LPG and get about 400klms from 55 litres of LPG. Not any noticable poew loss either. Gotta luv LPG:)
