Tired of my Garmin C320 Satnav mount falling off the screen on hot days so mounted it on leading edge of dashboard.

Still easily removable from its mount but no danger of the mount coming loose.

looks like a good solution to me.

as long as its easy to see but not in your direct line of vision at the same time its gotta be a good thing.

also - your woodgrain is VERY orangy / yellow!!!
i knew that it would fade out and get sun damaged quickly and badly - but DAMN thats bad.
(mines still the nice redish brown colour atm which is good)

could have gotten out the silastic (spelling?) and put that onto the suction cup for the windscreen.. it would never have come off if you did that! (i knew a guy that did that with his P plates...)

Good idea on the mount. You can also get a round plastic disc and fix that to the dash to serve as a mounting point for your satnav - much better than being a silastic king.

Yeah GTVi's had that different coloured wood, and perhaps most KW's?

Thats a good idea, but I personally don't like it when the GPS is in the middle of the dash, much prefer it in the drivers corner or lower down somewhere like a mobile phone.

As for the woodgrain, I prefer that to the red woodgrain you get in a lot of the KL's, as much as I like all of them. KH/KJ woodgrain is still my fav though :P

Yes windscreen mounts are a pain.

Made a metal bracket that slides in between the clock display and the dash. Locks in nice and tight.

Took suction cup and adjustable arm off windsceen mount and attached remaining part of mount to bracket.

Can still unclip the sat nav from the mount if required.

Benefits are easier to see being a lot closer to the driver.

A lot easier to reach

Doesnt fall off in the hot sun.

Cheers
