Stole the idea off the Evo forums :), but basically, what is your favourite thing about your third gen. The thing you like to show off the most, of the thing that gives you the biggest smile. Can be stock, or a mod.
Mine are my exhause note above 4,000 rpm, pure bliss.
The fantastic Chasis. Even thought its fwd, it seems to be able to always sort itself out.
But my number 1 thing, is the framless windows. Pure sex

My rims, get so many compliments about them from customers and random people passing by, not to mention as i pass people they all stare at the car.

That it has 4 wheels that go round and round, this gives it the ability to go on the road and roll down a hill when i release the hand brake, Kinda like a bus. :D
The surprise people get when you actually put your foot down :P I suppose that'd be the engine, not expecting a big Mitsubishi family sedan to be quite so brisk :P
That and the frameless windows, sports car at heart lol

frameless windows
power (even in 5spd tippy)
noise above 4k rpm (as said)
chromatic rearview and side mirrors
new rims
custom plates
i like alot about my car lol
though could do with more power :(

the kit- always get positive comments for being something different :D
the handling- my magna loves the twisties :D
exhaust note- very unique and loud (the way i like it)
the in car entertainment :P plenty of screens for a road trip :P
the attention it gets, always turning heads and getting asked about it and what type of car it actually is...
kinda one of those things i cant really narrow down to just one or two...

Frameless windows, absolutely love this feature, makes it feel really sporty.
The way it drives, good power, feels strong when delivering that power too.
smooth ride and handling (helps having a sports suspension though).
Definitely the kit and wheels, although the front bar and lack of colour coding is bringing it down atm.

Engine note
Smooth power delivery
Colour
Fuel efficient for what it is
Stable at high speed
Likes driving in the rain, especially puddles, tracks well and through aqua plaining and keeps it line through corners
Frameless windows
Cars are going back to more hard edged designs with high window sill lines so it doesn't look so dated these days
Rims
KJ tailights
Interior is comfortable and quiet except for this annoying intermittent dull rattle noise from the rear passenger door

It's annoying hey. I dynamatted all my doors last year in a effort to stop it, but it recently started again. I think it's either the door trim, something in the door itself, or the front passenger seat belt. It's very hard to pin point it.

I'm tempted to wrap an old sheet around the door and go for a drive cause i have a feeling that its the trim rubbing on the car body/door

Frameless windows a definite. Being a VRX AWD owner the factory exhaust (even the wife loves it) and rainy days on twisty mountain roads in the AWD always bring a very big :D especially when you have Mr "hero holden" or MR "Fullsik Ford" close by. (usually tailling and trying to keep up).

to fix this problem [if it is the door trimm rattling] go to your local car parts place,i.e supacheap, auto one etc and buy a packet of x,mas clips they are called
what is actually happening is the the thread of these x,mas clips is actually wearing out

Frameless windows(seems to be the main reason)
AWD
And a tight chassis(evident by the fact that the windows don't pop out from tight cornering shows how stiff the chassis is.
Oh and the fact I own mine outright:D

The shape. It's just such a sexy shaped car, partic around the rear C-pillar. Compare it to the Falcodores of the same period and there is just none of the style the 3rd gen has.

That's mate, I'll give that go this weekend. It does sound like a rattle/buzz that's coming from the door trim, so hopefully new clips will fix it.

IMO TJ sports/vrx/ralliarts look great with the right set of rims, such a nice agressive but elegant shape.
I love my LSD, makes the car much more of a pleasure to drive hard.
Tomorow I should be picking up my car with Sprintex kit fitted, I'm guessing that will make the list :)

Performance-wise, there will be no difference as the engine has no knock-sensor or system to advance/retard timing over fuel RON. The only advantage i have seen is smoother idle....

part of the reason yours will take better advantage of the PULP is the timing would have been jigged to run better for the LPG.
the rest of us cant take advantage of it so to speak.

MY NEW RALLIART STEERING WHEEL lol (when it comes).
Thought i'd beat everyone else.
The fact that she is 10 years old and still looks modern. Lived in NZ in the 90's and my boss chose a 97 Diamante as his company car and I was jealous - drove it every chance I had. Needless to say, only car on my mind when i arrived in Melbourne was a Magna.
The superb reliability. Nothing has gone wrong at all - and I crossed 180,000km's last week. Starting to get really minor stuff (fuel sender needs replacing), but every other car I've owned has had something bad happen (how about a 4cyl Honda Accord that broke a crank shaft!)
Most of all; when I was thinking about selling her last year (wife wanted a 7 seater), my next door neighbour who's a mechanic said "if you want to sell your Magna, I want first refusal". Says it all to me. Needless to say, we aren't selling - in fact, the modding will start later this year.

Or TW gets driven fairly hard from teh stoplights all the time, 12l/100km, every week at worst around town.
The TW was really a big step up from teh previous models in many ways, lots of little tweaks like gearing, ECU maps etc, even though the changes don't look like much on teh surface.
I've never owned a car with so much power that used so little fuel..........

Teh 4 speed auto in teh TL/W has a taller final drive than teh 4 speeder in 3.5 TH and TJ Magnas so it should be a bit slower than them off teh line but cruise at less revs for better economy than teh earlier models.

It does have a fairly tall final drive ratio, sits on around 2300 rpm at 100kmh.
It'll still light up 225's off the line and won't bog down though, so I think it's still good gearing overall.

How does that work if its taller and is supposed to rev less? The older ones sit just under 2100RPM @ 100km/h

but at the same time i get a little dissapointed by it, in a 'only one end driving car F/Rwd' car, you can at least get them a little sideways should the moment become desirable, in a AWD verada, i find it VERY friggin hard to get it to break traction - and when it does, its only ever for a split second coz it grips again.
even on oily wet roads... it just grips.
altho - in itself, thats a testament to the safeness of AWD when it comes to less than perfect driving conditions.
I get around 11 or 12l/100 km avg atm outa my awd in city cycle, a lil while ago it was using a heap of fuel giving me around the 14s and higher on occasion too.
drop a bottle or two of injector cleaner thru the tank, its helped mine.
things like oil and aircon use also effect fuel useages as well..

TJ2 3.5L t/tronic auto with mods
......the way the engine and transmission combine to give me torque response for driving by throttle - whether it's climbing long hills on the way to Canberra, or taking 25Km/Hr uphill hairpin turns in the blue mountains

What are you complaining about, thats a good thing lol
Would be awesome in the wet :D I'm over losing traction EVERYTIME I accelerate.

I like how the doors don't close automatically when opened on hills. They have those two positions where they stay put.
heh, on the traction note... Was fun last night in North Ryde, slippery wet roads and an accellerator that needs WD40. tried to accellerate slowly and the accellerator slips and spins like crazy, car bouncing up and down trying to grip.
And thats only in a 3.0 TH!

- The engine. TORQUE! Traction's an issue... but it's easy to modulate power in first gear, but I prefer planting it in second actually. Haven't driven it in the rain yet...
- The sound. Love that muffled low-pitch howl!
- Aftermarket taillights to set it apart a little from the crowd
- Roominess of the interior
- Tidy, well behaved handling

How does that work if its taller and is supposed to rev less? The older ones sit just under 2100RPM @ 100km/h
That's why I said around......it's hard to nail an exact rpm compared to speed in an auto. Perhaps the older ones you have been exposed to have had failed torque convertor clutches?

The best thing I like about my gen 3 is . . . . . oh, wait, I don't have one. Will get back to you as soon as possible, okay?
(this is a roundabout way of saying I plan to get one, as soon as I've worn out my two gen 2 vehicles.)

Try driving a VE. The A pillars are big enough to hide a truck and you can't see crap all out of the back.

Perhaps you can remember back to when you were being flamed over your second gen?
