pretty much just the curve and size mostly.. i believe some of the auto trimmers install custom sunroofs. just gotta watch out for things such as the light. then again you get get the map lights from a verada, that should solve that. good luck, let us know how you go

Ring up places 1st to see if they will install it.
The factory sunroof in a verada came with a map light ive never seen before though..
Still i reckon try and find one from a magna/rada first

That would be sweet, but ive never seen a rada around with a sunroof, letalone one in a wreckers, i can get this one for $100 but i dont wanna blow $100 on something thats not gonna fit, and yeah, finding someone who would wanna spend time buggerising around with it and seeing if it would fit would be a problem.

it would prolly phsically fit quite well - the EL's roofline is a little more.. curved i think.
shouldnt be too hard to get a trimmer to put it in, just gotta find one that is willing to think about whats needed i guess.
it prolly be a fair bit wider than a standard magna sunroof, being the EL is a wider car.
personally - i would look for one from the magna/rada range first before going hack up custom for the relative ease of it..

Not sure if this is still the case these days, but about 4-5 years ago I looked at a sunroof for the TS Wagon. The secondhand sunroof had been taken out of a Magna or maybe a Diamante wreck import.
The problem I found was finding someone who could fit it.
In the end I gave it a miss.
They all said if it was a new or secondhand aftermarket sunroof - no problems.
But a factory fitted one - wouldn't touch it or couldn't do it.
I found out from a couple of places that they wouldn't touch factory fitted sunroofs because of the way the roof had to be folded over - some kind of special tool or process.
Not sure if this was correct or still a problem with current trimmers/repairers.

Yeah true, the one im looking at is still inside the roof, if i wanted to buy i would be taking the whole roof of the car with me, would be a hassle just to get someone to pull it out of the roof to begin with. Bugger it ill give it a miss, way to many problems that will cost me more to get sorted out then it would to start with a decent sunroof.

I had found one at a wreckers for $150, the whole roof, KR. Cept i didn't have $150 on me at the time. If you can find one again i think it would be worthwhile to at least buy it so you know its there and you can put it in when you please. Dimi got one installed in his car..

list what you want on www.autoparts.com.au
Ive seen plenty of second gen wrecks with sunroofs go threw the auctions
eg. tr/ts or kr/ks magna/verada electric sunroof wanted

my opinion is that if you want a sunroof - buy a car with one in it..
unless you get a hollandia or something professtionally installed which i think are well over $2k..
doing them on the cheap ends up with rust around the roof, leaks, squeaks etc etc..
