... yes i have read the articles about these lights and accept there points of view,:confused: but my question relates to whether or not you can put a HID kit in a spot light ie,Hella Rallye 2000 and what would be the pros and cons...

Its a very worthwhile modification. Most of the HID kits work very well in spotlights, but due to their long warmup time are good for offroad use only (ie. long on times, not turned on and off more than 3 times an hour). Not so good for cars, where you need the light quickly and are turned on an off often.
Do NOT bother with H3 varieties, the beam pattern is AWFUL due to completely wrong arc orientation (vertical vs horizontal). You can get something called a H3C, which uses a single glass bulb (rather than a double enclosed) but they are rated for 25W - but they are usually run on 35W ballasts - they have a nasty amount of UV output and they explode without warning, often shorting out the cheap chinese ballasts without adequatly designed protection.
H1 and H7 are great for spotlights. I had a H7 kit in a set of FF150's - great output and pattern.
