hey guys
does anyone know if a GTO/legnum motor has ever been fitter into a 3rd gen ? th?
i found access to one very cheap , as an importer is closing down here in adelaide
whole package for 700... bargain lol

I have a feeling that the gearbox mounts on the wrong side of the engine for a 3rd gen, but will fit a 2nd gen no worries. Feel free to tell me I'm wrong though :D

anyone else got any light on this subject?
if it wont fit and anyone with a 2nd gen wants this package , PM me and ill tell you where it is ... 700 is cheap for a complete package

yes you can put them in. to keep it FWD though you have to use a geargox from either the 4cyl 3rd gen magna's or get the legnum gearbox modified to suit FWD only configuration. there is a member here with one in a 3rd gen wagon i'm pretty sure.

GTO motor (6G72TT/6G72 Both DOHC) Will only fit the 2nd gens, not 100% on the legnum...not sure what way that sits.
But if the engine is on the drivers side it will fit in a 3rd gen. if its on the passengers side, 2nd gen

I'm pretty sure he means the 6G72 GTO motor, which shares the same orientation as the second gens.
On the off chance he's talking about a 6A13 VR4 engine, it'll fit with some modification to the transmission.

yeah sorry i should clarify i was talking about the legnum 2.5 twin turbo motor.
