Hi People
They say that the problem with hindsight is that it is never there when you need it.
If this thread goes they way I hope then it could benefit many people. So that funny noise or shudder that turned out to be major (say over $800), if you're over it and want to try and stop it happening to the rest of us, please post here.
It would be handy if you could post the model and mileage, cost of repairs or any other relevant info, even if the Magna /Verada in question is long gone or you've upgraded. Look forward to hearing from you.
kind regards and best wishes
Blake

Guys, this is Tech Torque so lets keep this to serious car related matters.
This could benefit many but will be canned if you all keep posting rubbish, as will your ability to post for some time

1999 Mitsubishi Magna
Weird Vibrations at certain revs under load. engine mount was totally worn = very dangerous, luckily other mounts were in good condition.
Car was running with an unnecassarilly large flat spot, was like hitting NOS. Result was an air leak - vacuum hoses werent on properly.

TH Magna 75k
Rough Idle, random cutouts immediately after starting and sluggish performance.
Replacement battery fixed all these issues.
Also,
Knocking sound in front end, random tramlining and other weird outbreaks from the front end while driving, found both of the lower control arm bushes flogged out, replaced with Poly units and been great ever since.

Hi VRX
OUCH. When the pump was noisy, is it something you could hear easily while driving, turning etc? Did it build gradually over time before failing completely?
Very interesting, thanks for sharing this

you'll usually hear a whining sort of gurgling noise which is the vanes in the pump cavitating because of the air in the system, it will get worse as the fluid level drops.
