So basically $18 and youve got them.

Supercheap - Nightshade Tint - 2 thin coats.
Light still shines through pretty well at night, And cops think its just stock.

Goes great with parras, Positive and Negative Crit welcome.

Edit: Sorry for the **** camera phone pics.

i quite like it - altho the chrome in the grill now looks a little lost all by itself in the darkness - the parras black backing and now the indicators etc.

blends well with the tone of your car as well :)

do you have a pic of them lit up?
to me they look a little too dark (but i do like them) but would like to see them lit up :)

Doddski, i will buy some new batteries for the camera this week and take some night ones
,
I was thinking of doing custom chrome strips around parras and indicators, but theres just no room around the indys, will try and suss something out this week, Also i think it would be uneven with grille.

Thanks to everyone else for positive feedback!

Still would love to hear more opinions as your criticism is a huge help towards the first step of my magna overhaul.

I think loose the chrome on the grill, will look alot better.
And try puttin a clear coat over the indicators to make it more glossy.

looks gr8. i did it on my 2nd gen as well as the side repeaters. cops never picked up on them even when i got stickered for suspension of all things!!

Seriously! i got pulled over for a breatho the other night, And the cops then wanted to check my car as i had full interior soundsystem blaring, They made me turn all lights on off etc, And didnt even care about the indicators! lol lol lol lol

Might do tails and side repeaters tonight, And if the sides dont come out that well i will just buy some 380 clears.

But if they pulled you over at night they might not have realised how dark they are. They do look alright but I'd be a little worried driving around with them.

Sorry mate, not flaming you but although a lot say they look good, I can guarentee you that if you have an accident, you will be immediately at fault as your indicators are there for a reason.

Although they may look good, you should not tint any lights, they are a functional part of the safety of your car. There are enough idiots out there who state they did not see brake lights or indicaors when they hit you, with your tinted lights, you are only giving them a good reason to state this.

Think about it, when the sun is shining on them, they are hard enough to see sometimes, imagine them now?

Can't remember who it was, so sorry about that, but I remember someone on here had tinted indicators for show plus a set of normal ones for driving. May want to just pick up a set of normal ones for daily driving, easy enough to swap in and out as necessary.

Otherwise they look pretty good, nice work. :)

Good to hear some great advice from other members, was also posted earlier, #10.

So it was... bloody short term memory can't last in between pages apparently. lol

But yeah @ Shinraa, maybe throw the normal ones on for driving (considering you already have them) and have the tinted ones in for show and what not, it'll keep everything in order should you ever need to deal with the insurance company. Here's hoping you wont ever have to, but better to be safe than sorry, yeah?

Of course at the end of the day it's up to you, just thought i'd throw that out there.

the case of standard indicators being hard to see in daylight - could one not say that this is because they are similar in colour and so the contrast between the two become hard to differentiate?
in the case of them being 'tinted' - could one not say that because of the alternating colour sequence of black to orange/amber, that it would then be easier to differentiate the differences in the colours and be able to tell when the indicator is flickering or not?
(this only being valid IF the tint is done so in a proper fashion and the reflectors are still being used to their full extent)

Yeah, try telling that to the traffic Police or the courts when you are defending yourself after someone has rammed you and you are found at fault because of your un-roadworthy car. Also try to convince your insurance company also/?

At the end of the day, if you do not tail gate, you will not hit the car in front of you no matter how tinted the "person" driving that car has their lights HOWEVER given that 99% of the tools on the roads today do not have any idea of what a safe distance is??

Sorry mate, we will have to agree to disagree, tinted taillights are not for road use, there is a very good reason for this.....

I hear what you're saying but it's not just the light that is shining thru the indicators that is the problem. If the sun is on the indicators then the black paint on the cover may reflect more light than the indicator is giving out, therefore you only see the light reflected from the cover rather than from the globe. Hope that makes sense.:)

I know what you mean, it pisses me off to no end. I leave a large gap because I'd rather not transform my car into a conjoined twin, then some retard changes lanes right infront of me into my gap.

Yeah, I agree with you all, The tinted indys come out extremely well during the day / sunlight / night. I've only ever considered safety when doing anything to my car, And the coats of tint i have put over them have been very light. (even though they look pretty dark)

BUT i will definatly start throwing the normal ones in during the day, just for proper safety guys.

Does anyone have pics of tinted tails or side repeaters? Ive seen Pauls tinted rears and am liking them, but im wondering if anyone has tinted the NON-Elite (Stock) tails?

agreed. although they can have their pro's and con's, it would be safer and easier for all involved to have them for more 'show' orientated purposes

hope you didn't think i was trying to have a dig at you.

Mean Magna: yeah mate, makes sense to me. also another valid point as to why tinted indicators should be kept for 'show'

Doesn't look to bad. Did you heat the glue to take the cover off? Also, is the paint you've used a high gloss paint to help reflect the light of the globe? The higher the gloss the better I'd say.

The orange looks alright on your car 'cos of the paint job, but if other were going to try this I'd suggest getting the chrome finish indicator globe so that they match the para's a bit more. They reflect like chrome when the globe is not on but shine as a normal orange/amber globe. However, they are about $20 which is a fair bit, but it does look pretty sweet.
