I saw a few at various car yards when I was looking around for my current car, I know Boozer had one before his 3L TF which was before his TL, other than that Hamish2 and Nexus have them, can't think of anyone else.

lol Its not that complicated, he has a TL VRX now, before that he had a 3L V6 TF and before that a 2.4L TF. But like I said if your looking for members who currently have them HAMISH2 and Nexus are all I know of, theres probably a few more though.

Mine seems to be great, obviously not as powerful as a Commodore or 6cyl Magna, but still faster than my mates Subaru Forester. My idea was that it would be cheaper to run-but this is probably only the case around the city (and ive been told thats minimal)

P.S random thing happened last night...ever since ive had the car the green light behind the automatic gear selection next to the tacho hasnt worked, all of a sudden last night it starts working...i recall on past posts that the D light didnt light up on any Magnas so dont know whats going on...

i just recently sold my 2.4L TF...

it was not as frugual on fuel as some may say, but maybe it was just my one...(i do a lot of stop start peak hour driving)
it was chewing more fuel than my TJ 3.5L????????????? but if it' was just freeway driving, you'll be laughing

apart from that, it drives nicely. not much torque for overtaking, but enough grunt to get you moving. better that most of the smaller 4cyl car on the road for accelaration, but
you won't win any races with it.

I have found that mine is quite good on fuel(not as good as my excel but thats expected)
I do alot of country(long kms driving)so its good that way..
My D light doesnt work and i have been thinking its the globe gone in it but from what you have said it makes me wonder as i didnt think it was something that most magnas had..Strange indeed..lol .

2.4 auto wagon here .. not great on fuel economy last checked it was 400km to the tank but i would rather pay 4 cyl rego instead of 6 cyl..IMO for a car that size it should never have been an option...also to keep up with the traffic flow you need to drive it as a manual the auto box is to slugish

400kms per tank! If the 2.4L has the same 71L tank as teh V6, ouch! I'm getting better than that in strictly stop/start suburban driving.

I don't know why.... it always gets serviced on time..being QLD the aircon runs 24/7

Does the aircon use more fuel??
hmmmm i always thought that if the car was serviced it would have better fuel consumpion.
Do you service it yourself or take it to a mechanic??

Yep, increased load on the motor, the aircon runs off a belt which is driven by your motor, so you get marginally less power. That said, I don't notice a power drop with my 3.5L big block :P

Aircon uses more fuel in general, but it uses less full than driving with the windows down. Can't remember the numbers but it was on myth busters awhile back. I think it was a litre or 2 per 100km. Also can't recall if it was all windows or just the driver's.

:stoopid: Only ever driven 4cyl cars before I got the verada, now I've got a 3.5, I'd never go back to a puny little four banger by preference, unless it had a nice turbo

Magna's are just too big a car for a four cyl, honestly they are.

While being an older car its still comparable, when I turn the air con on in the 2.6L TR, its very similar to opening the bonnet and letting about 50 of the horses out, the verada on the other hand I can't actually tell at all. I wouldn't expect the 2.4L 3rd gens to have the exact same loss in power, but it must be noticeable.

Subes have never run a "V" motor. They are all boxer engines... Horizontally opposed for those who dont know.

I can't tell if the aircons on at all. So it's constantly on. I wish I had climate control though =\
