After hearing knocking from the CV's i had a 'B' type service done, i dont know WTF it means, but my car has 150,000kms.
All the usual stuff cost $160 but then comes the bad news.
* CV joint boots, inner and outers are cracked/worn and need replacing
* Valve stem seals to be replaced
* Oil leaking from rocker cover gasket
* Tyres need replacing (i'll do that myself)
* windscreen washer bottle is cracked (cbf looking for another one so he can do it)

Mechanic tells me
"it could cost up to $500 to replace the rocker cover gasket" so i say,
"but arent the gaskets like $30, so ur charging me $470 labour?" :nuts:
"but to get to the rear gasket, we have to take off the plenuim"(which i knew)
"i might aswell get a Mitsu dealer to do it":gtfo:
"ok, the most you will pay is $350, including the valve stem seals":cool:

the total bill including the origonal service will be around $900ish. I miss driving my car, im stuck driving this POS 380 VRX for another week!!!:rant:

Wouldn't he have to take of the rocker cover to do the valve seals anyways :confused: ?

I got slugged for something kind of similar because I asked them to change my brakes while I got the service done and they charged me for service and full price for brake change even though their service apparently includes them physically removing the brakes and checking them.

But oh well :roll:
