let me get this right...you want a 4ch amp to run 2 subs and rear speakers?
there is 3 ways you can do this...two of them are wrong
1st... wire the rears to 2 channels and bridge the other channels for the subs wired in series (prob about 30rms to each sub!)
2nd... forget the rears and bridge it down to a 2ch and run 1 sub off each (have to get tunning perfect or it will sound crap...well sound worse than it will anyway) and thats pesuming both front and rear have low pass filters
3rd... get a mono amp for the subs (can start from around $200 mark) and run the subs off that and use the boss for your front and rear speakers

thanx!
the third is what i was gunna do lata down the track but as i said its a temporary arrangement (like 2 weeks max!) and than ill be getting the correct equipment.
i had a 5 channel 1200w amp running it before but it was a real dodgey amp given to me by a mate so it lasted about as long as an ex con's first sexual encounter after release.
so for now all im looking for is the best temp setup i can do not gunna be pumping the ***** outta the system just need sound as atm its only got the fronts hooked up
cheers

to be honest there is no NICE way of hooking this up to 2 subs and 2 speakers
why not just wait the 2 weeks or so and do it right the first time?
and how dodgy can the old amp be if your replacing it with a boss? lol

Installing this is easy. Go to your local servo and get 5 litres of petrol. Add a match and run while it burns!
Honestly those Boss amp will put out under 50WRMS per channel with huge amounts of THD and no control.
If you have to, at least bridge the 4ch into 2 available channel to run each sub ( as long as they are 4ohm ). Run the rears off the deck or something else. Do you know how to run cables?

ok well if you MUST hook them up then proceede as follows (i will not take any responsibility for blown amps or blown subs or if it sounds terrible!)
you should have 4 terminals for front and 4 for the rear on the amp itself and it should say which 2 are bridged...
simply connect possitive from one sub to the bridged possitive and connect negative to negative
the do the same for the rear channels with the other sub
as for tuning make sure both are low passed at around 60-80hz and have bass boost etc the same on both front and rear (as well make sure they are both exact including gains)
as i sed this is the only way to go but its if deffinitly the wrong amp for the job
best of luck lol

one thing i have learnt...auto electricians make the worst stereo fitters...
i am constantly getting cars in that had "an auto sparky mate" fit stuff in and to be honest people that have no idea and fit it themselfs are better! lol

My AVX2 has a dolby 5.1 processor in it and also a center channel RCA output so i can connect the whole lot to a digital 5.1 Amp.
And Btw Boss=firewood, one of my ex work mates had it in his car till it overheated, the carpet caught on fire and gutted his car out one afternoon.

All I have to say is yuck.
I still stick by the suggestion of burning the amp, get it before it gets you!

Personally can't justify spending the dollars on audio gear for my car. I do however have a pretty sweet studio set-up with the good gear. I like to run cheaper audio gear in my car so i can listen to what i record through similar quality speakers etc. to what the average joe who will buy my CD's has. Basically my car is the only place i can do this.

i listined to hardcore trance , techno , hardcore bass and sony produce bass thats not even there they make there own bass cause they can't handle it .....
but different ppl like it different ways
sony used to be 1 of the best with there old explode gear up until mid 2001 then they went down hill why i don't know but hey if u like them go for it

Yeah ok , I'm from the opinion do it right, do it once. If that means that I go another month without it to get something better, then I will. :D
You have to ask yourself, how many pairs of ears to you get in a lifetime?!? Then take a look at the Sony's again...

What a lot of people need to understand, is that car audio is much like chocolate, everyone thinks cadbury chocolate is great [read: Sony car audio] until they have some max brenner [Insert high end audio brand here].
Now cadbury chocolate is OK, and for not much money you get a small slice of averaqge chocolate.
However, step in to a max brenner store [if you havn't been, there's one in QV and one in the glen, and others around] and then have your self melted chocolate dripped over strawberries and you see that there is a clear difference and that cadbury chocolate that you used to think tasted so good, now simply does not compare.
In simple terms, you're ignorantly unaware of how much better your car audio can sound, until you actually hear it.

I know how much better mine could sound but cbf spending money on it. Hardcore sounds better when it's dirty anyways. Sometimes i turn it right up and pretend I'm at a toe to toe show with some ****ty PA's at some old youth centre. Then i realise I'm supposed be driving. That's how good my audio is. And it only cost me $150 (including the head unit).

lol then I hop in my car and it almost sound like I'm actually at the concert.. More from cleaver install techniques rather than the "best" gear. Why do you want your car to sound like a dirty club?

If its full of slappers he'll almost be there lol
Use the sonys as paperweights and get some new JBL's or MTX's for 6x9's. Absolutely wicked 6x9's for under $150 a pair. Compared to the JL Audio 6x9's which are almost twice the price and actually sound very similar.
I find sony speakers good for hooking up to a HU and thats about it. For the $50-$80 you pay they are a decent speaker but yeah, once you start amping stuff step away.
