hey all.. in the last week or so my cars developed a weird rattle. It does it only when driving off when you lift the clutch n tap the gas. Depending how you drive off as to how bad the rattle is. Took it to mitsu and they said it was faulty front part of the exhaust system. They replaced it and Problem fixed for about 30 mins and is now back to how it was. Its really hard to pinpoint the rattle. Almost sounds as if its under the whole car. Anyone else had this problem?

my advise take it back to them and ask them to fix it properly as you paid them already

if they try to excape tell them you will go to current affairs :)

nah they have already told me to go back so they can have another look at it. I was just wondering if anyone else has encountered the same problem before and how they fixed it. Just to make it easier to pinpoint the problem and fix it without having mitsubishi replace half the mechanical stuff in the car. It hasn't affected the performance of the car at all which is reassuring.

I think i know what ur on about not sure tho...It rattles when u accelerate from standstill and it only makes that sound when u take off never at speed. Its especially more loud when cold.Im wondering what that sound is. I have a feeling it may be the engine mounts

thats exactly it! I had a feeling it was the engine mounts. It seems to be non existant when the weathers warm. I'm waiting till tonight for the weather to cool down and engine to cool off and ill test out if its come back. Also noticed my resonator might be hitting against my strut brace a little so ive moved that away as a precaution too.

turns out it was my intake resonator hitting onto my strut brace

Sounds like a small thing. Did it cost alot? Is the sound completely gone? Did it have anything to do with the enigne mounts?

didnt cost a cent actually. I found the problem before taking it back to mitsubishi. Simple undo a screw, twist resonator 10 degrees and tighten screw again. Sound all gone :D
