Ok, well i have a TN Elite (auto, efi) that is running fine, idles ok, battery is fine etc etc

Every now and again though, when you pull up at a set of light it straight out dies... not coughing or whatever. Most of the time it starts up again and carries on without a drama yet on some occassions it will take a few minutes to fire.

What could this be?

My thoughts are the Airflow meter as a possible suspect?

Or perhaps the Dizzy? Obviously like not buggered but dirty of something and just occassionally just not connecting?

It not overheating, or happening at a certain time (like can happen 5 mins into a drive or an hour into it!)

Before i look further into those i thought id ask and check that im somewhere near theright track.. but if not, please advise :)

Thanks!!

Alex.

the torque converter

do the stall test
next is the kick down band changing smoothly

Really!!?

wow, i wouldntve thought that!

At the moment its leant out to someone and they let me know of it so i cant test it out too much myself!!

But when i get to test it out ill give it a go.

If it is that though, wouldnt be worth mucking around with id imagine, just have to live with it!?

No other 'cheaper' suggestions hehe?

if the box wont kick down at the lights

it wont be in first gear to start off again

there should be a small lurch while waiting at the lights not a stall

have the kick down band solenoid tested and band adjusted if required

this may just be a loose wire or bad contact

time for a service maybe

at the most just change the torque converter
