Hey guys, ive managed to score myselt a cheap (read: very cheap) Apex'i S-AFCII (to suit a 6G72) and was wondering if it was worth the trouble of installing it, and tuning it? My car runs quite rich, and triming the fuel map a little would help with power and economy, or shoudl i just sell it on? Im only waiting on a loom and a couple little pieces for the DOHC conversion, so would it be more worthwhile to keep it for this engine?
A big factor on whether i use it depends on ease of installation, in which case, i have searched and been unable to find a ecu pinout for the SOHC 6G72 Auto, for me to splice into the loom. Anyone have a copy somewhere? also, ive never had to look for it, so where is the ECU located under the dash; centre console? Kickpanels?
The closest thing to an install guide i have come across is this, but its not as specific as i need it.
http://www.vr4stealth.com/apexi_safc_install.htm
To those that are concerned, yes, the car will be tuned on a dyno.
ALso i have picked up a boss kit but my verada has cruise control buttons and what not, so is the deal i just dlete them, and put the buttons/switches onto the dash somewhere? Any other options?
Thanks guys

For cruise control you can either make some switches on the dash, try attach it to your new wheel (probably not gonna be good) or lose it.
Dunno what you can expect for your Apexi, though you might get more power, and possibly better fuel economy. Dont forget, since you got it cheap, a small improvement in fuel consumption will pay itself off fairly quick.

ok so ive figured out the boss kit thing, drill. dremel and time fixed that.
My other issue still stands, i cant find a pin out for the ecu for a 2nd Gen V6 Auto. I did have one of those gregory's worksop manuals but my dog ate it (im not kidding) but i dont think this info was in there anyways.
Ive managed to source a 2nd hand Mitsubishi Genuine Factory Workshop manual for the 2nd Gen, but i dont get it for like 2 weeks and i want flashing lights and cool factor now dammit.
My new 02 sensor comes in next week, so i wanna see how many kms the ol'girl can get me, as everything else has been done and at the moment, i feel like she is kicking me in the nutts.

so you mean you re-routed the cruise control buttons?
if you did can you explain how.

i dont have pictures yet, but its a pretty plain looking wheel, with no horn pad, so the alloy spokes are uncovered. so basically i drilled the holes into the alloy spoke to mount the 2 momentary switches (note i deleted the 'resume' fucntion, 18months and never used it) for 'set' and 'cancel' the wire is 4wire sheathed wire (for neatness) that is at this time not overly secured to the back of the wheel.
This is where its hard to explain, on the wheel i have, ive been able to unsheath the individual wires and tap a very small hole into the base of the wheel (where it mounts to the boss kit) without passing through to the top of the horn pad area. This gave me acess to the hollow part of the horn hole/boss kit. Now i just left a bit of slack in it here and drilled series of holes close to the centre nut and used a dremel to join them together, so now there is a arching slot around the centre of the boss kit (15mm long) This along with the slack i left in the boss, allowed me to rejoin the wires for the 2 wires from the original buttons inside the steering column plastic covers and to full lock left and right without any tension on the wires.
I plan to weld/attach an alloy conduit piece that covers all the wiring, with a rounded edge that tracks the arch in the hub/boss just to dress it up.
In other news, i put a 'button starter' in the ol'girl. So now even if you steal my keys you wont be able to start it any easier. And in case the switch ever stuffs up ive wired in a redundency switch which is super mega ultra hidden, just incase. The redundency once switched allows 'key start' to be operational again and me not to get harrassing calls from the missus as its bound to happen to her.
Hope that helps WOMBAT

I got a Momo wheel on my Verada which I used the cruise control switch (stalk type) from a airbag type steering wheel (TS - KS) which I modify and mount on to the boss kit.
